What is hard to understand is why you think offering him what we considered right constitutes forcing him out, as you said earlier. It doesn't. Palace had to offer more to try and intice him away, that's not advanced thinking on any level. We offered a lot more than just money, but he chose the better deal financially. It is simple, I don't understand why some people insist on making a big issue out of it.

Try this... Gus fcuked up on Muzza... he is exactly the TYPE of player we need... we will have to pay a LOT more in fees, wages et al to even get a player of equivalent quality in Muzza's position...

No goal in 4 and a half hours for f*** sake, get rid of CMS and get a real striker

IMHO CMS in NOT the problem... he needs a 'striker with presence' (TM Gus) alongside him... and if Gus tries Vicente up front again, he has officially lost it..

Agree it's the tactics and Barnes on the right etc,cms is still isolated but hopefully that will change when vicente and buckley return, time to scrap dicker for an attacking player aswell.

And you can say that for certain? although we played a different formation there is nothing to suggest that a 4-4-2 wouldnt have brought about the same result. We had a good side in League 1 who were more than capable of playing pretty much any formation.

Loads of decent sides play 4-4-2, cant really understand why its frowned upon.

We didn't have a good side. We had an average side. In fact, a side, that before Poyet took charge off, narrowly avoided relegation the season before. Nobody expected Brighton to challenge. Nobody could have predicted that GP would turn El Abd into a world beater. Nobody thought Spanish second division right back Calderon would add real style to our defence and contribute some important goals. Nobody saw it coming. 442 is a very outdated philosophy and it's held our national team back for many, many years. The top managers abandoned it years ago.

What Poyet has achieved with us is miraculous. We have a reputation throughout the country for playing excellent passing football. I'm proud of that.

Could do worse than try Vincelot as a centre forward or try starting with Toby so that he gets the pace of the game

I get the feeling Gus has used most of our budget getting in the players we already have this summer leaving not enough for the striker.

Why don't palace even start him then? He scored less than CMS last season....
