had a debate with a mate last night about guitar players; i was saying the best ever was jimi hendrix he was saying slash!

Brian May or Dave Gilmour are legends but Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine / Audioslave is my all time favourite some of the sounds he gets from that guitar are amazing.

I'd also mention Todd Rundgren, if only for his legendary "motorcycle guitar" on 'Bat Out Of Hell' by Meat Loaf.

This is very true. He hardly uses any effects either.

I think the Edge needs a mention. He is the nuts on Vertigo. Incidentally, my one claim to fame is that when I was driving, I used quite regularly to drive Dave Gilmour's children from his first marriage (two daughters and a son) from their home in Ashurstwood to his farmhouse in Wisborough Green, but I never met him. One of his daughters was an absolute stunner.
