Police at the Palace game

Keep them held in a "pen" for as much space outside where possible for 30 minutes and get them into "areas" as to how they will be travelling (IE Park and Ride/Coaches and those for trains). Then when the police are ready to move their fans, just hold the people in the North Stand/Dicks Bar/East Stand in for a couple of minutes whilst they pass and move them through to wherever. Might not be exactly 30 minutes, more whenever the station has been cleared. If anything the problems will happen at Brighton and Lewes stations when fans mix up a bit more. The KO time stops flash points before the game though, but after the game there would be a fair few problems.

No chance of keeping home fans in especially when some have a tendency to leave early anyway.

The sensible thing is to keep the Palace fans in for 30 minutes after the game, but when have the police been sensible ?

Coming from the biggest weirdo on here,
I bet you don't say boo too a Palace fan on the day of the game those that mouth on here are usually the first to run behind the old bill and melt away.
Don't forget your( leather)German army cap.

If you look like your avatar - I'm having you!

I'll pinch your cap and pull your satchel - and you'll never catch me.:catfight:

Even Palace fans think its more sensible to be held !!! Think the sticking point is that people hang around though, my idea (above) would be the best way of getting around this.

Why not treat them like human beings and maybe they will behave like them. Keeping BHAs on at Selhurst did not work as there was 2000 very angry fans in mass and there was no Wing mirrors left on the way back

SE20 appreciate your views, but the Amex is unique and loads of Brighton fans stay and drink for quite some time after a game, so this could cause issues. Let them out at the same time, not all football fans are thugs

Some people do hang around ..but the vast majority don't

Exactly, so its easier to manage, i mean all it needs is a small police line blocking the exits of the North/East/Dicks for a short time. The people in the North would be more busy having a pint and watching the highlights/TV anyway so it would be easy to manage.

How long will it take to clear the station of Brighton fans? Is it a Sunday service operating or something better? Could take ages.

That, then when they get outside - kettle them, and if anyone is pushed forward, smash them on the head with a batton.

If there is no pushing, use the horses to go in and start some, so they get an excuse to crack heads.

That should cover it!

 except that it is quite sore getting a love tap on the head from the met, but then it is the scum so great idea.

Totally agree. Those who want trouble will head somewhere without CCTV. As such stewards and police should just walk with and mingle with the palace fans when they are let out to just have a word with anyone a bit mouthy. The BHA hoolies will also not want to cause trouble on the concourse as they will all get arrested when the cctv catches it all (as the Brighton fans at Kings Cross found out on the way back from Wolves). Its not the 60's, 70's and 80's or even the 90's at grounds anymore. Also, how about people just enjoy the rivalry be realise that really, its only a bloody game of football.

And indeed you should! This is not celtic v rangers! Have you only just started going to football games? It may kick off a little bit but only for the people who want it. Man up!
So what will happen when they start on the "scarfers" because they have just lost ?

Well if it's anything like last season (God forbid), 90% of our lot will be well on their way home by the time the final whistle blows...

I hope your "lads" don't start lobbing objects again at fans waiting for trains, indiscriminate and totally irresponsible I say.

I think it's safe to say that both sides have got idiots. I like what WCP says for a change 'it's only a bloody game of football'.

Indeed. Last season, their 'mob' were giving women, kids & scarfers a load of abuse - including 'offering themselves up' - going past the North Stand (c/w Police escort). And that was before the game. What pwoppa f***ing hard men they must be.
