Of course my ratings are 'suspect' because i only listened to the game but here are my worthless thoughts

SULLIVAN - 8 -did very well in a tough game and got away with a seemingly stonewall penalty. Well done!

WHING - 6 - raped in the first half but got forward in the second

RICHARDS - 5 never dealt with Gradel but seemed better in the second half

ELPHICK - 7 fine

HAWKINS - 7 fine too

THOMSON - 7 good game.. worked hard

SAVAGE - 6 tried but was never really in it

ANYINSAH -7 - worked hard, tenacious but could have done better with his chances

MCLEOD - 6 - not a bad first half . injured?

JOHNSON - 9 - man of the match without any training with the team... super!!

VIRGO - 8 - worked really hard and couldnt have done much better... except score.

THORNTON - 8 super second half.... if only he could play a whole game. hope he stays.

COX - 7 - considering how poor hes been this season he wasnt too bad but still a shadow of what he could be

ADAMS TACTICAL GENIUS OR LUCKY? let's see what the next couple of games bring?

Dont really know the players that well - but ..here's a few.

Sullivan - 7.5 - made a crucial save when it was 2-0
V -7- thought he had a quiet game.
Johnson -8- what a signing, good goals too:)
Whingy - ???- :thud:DID HE PLAY:thud:
Thornton 9 - Cleary changed the game didn't he
Elphick 7 - was very average a couple of clumsy mistakes
Anyinsah - 8- worked hard . run for the last goal was good ...a show from me "Cross" obviously worked ;)

Oh yeah...that welsh long haired thing who got Edinburgh sent of in the final in 1999 - 0- ****

Sullivan 7 - Good debut

Whing 6 - much better second half

Elphick 7 - please look up when you have the ball at your feet

Hawkins 6 - not the player I saw start the season

Richards 5 - Struggled positionally in the first half against a VERY good player

Anyinsah 6 - but a great last ten minutes

Thomson 4 - contributes so little

Savage 6 - Seemed to go off because MA was worried about him being sent off. I thought he had a decent first half.

Johnson 7 - Offered little apart from two bolts from the blue

McLeod 5 - Not match fit. Had our only shot on target in the first half.

Virgo 4 - Won nothing in the air. Out of position, out of sorts

Subs:

Thornton 9 - How did he not start?

Cox 6 - Out of position

your opinion fair enough, but good performances consist of more than just the eye catching stuff. Virgo chased and challenged for everything upfront and didn't give the Leicester defenders a rest all night, he also came back and defended well.

Thomson started well, faded for 20 mins before HT then came alive again when Cox and Thornton came on. Worked hard for the team. I'm not his biggest fan but deserves more than a 4.

Sullivan - 7 - Started a bit shakey sending 4 kicks straight into tough, commanded well and made a couple of great saves. Good debut, and a win should see his confidence go up. Thought he conceeded a blatant penalty at 2-1 when he took down Howard, maybe the luck we needed to get a win

Whing - 6 - struggled to stand up, but did well, was the left winger unmarked as he covered the middle quite alot. Not his best game, not his worst

Elphick - 7 - dodgy start getting roasted in the first 5 mins, but recovered well, unluck with their 1st goal, but did well not to put it in his own goal. Won MOM I think

Hawkins - 6 - could have been better positioned for both the goals, but won his challenges in the air, and made a couple of great last ditch blocks in our 6 yard area.

Richards - 5 - poor game, got beat by Dyer all the time, at fault for the goal, and his distribution poor

Anyinsah - 6 - worked between right midfield and striker, got in the way and caused trouble at times. Needs to work on his end product

Thomson - 7 - played like he did at Peterborough, looked like a midfield player he should have been. Put some good attacking moves together with the other midfielders

Savage - 6 - some great one touch passes that created our only attacking chances in the first half, got caught in pocession, and made a really bad challenge for his booking. Was pumped up and probably would have been sent off

Johnson - 8 - not sure why he didnt win MOM. Great dribble in the first 10mins, tried to get forward and always kept the ball on the deck. Massive defelection for his first goal, brilliant shot for his second. Didnt think he would be as fit as he proved he was

McLeod - 6 - put in a couple of good crosses, but was not effective in our first half tactics of kicking it high to him so he could beat the small right back

Virgo - 6 - not a brilliant game, but I dont expect that from a centre back playing upfront on his own. 2 great efforts from long range free kicks. Didnt win much in the air for once.

Thornton - 7 - changed the game when he came on, running at defenders, getting stuck in and delivering some telling passes. Why he isnt starting games MIFFS me. Quality and a class above us

Cox - 6 - did well wide on the left, was a good outlet but final product just deserted him in times of real attacking promise for us

Thomson never shows for the ball and hardly touches the damn thing. That, for central midfielder is criminal.

Sullivan - 7 - decent all things considered, and a save in first half stoppage game meant we had the chance to comeback. If that goes in it's game over.
Whing - 6 - dependable
Elphick - 7 - Funny really, cocked up for first goal, looked shaky in first half, but was BRILLIANT in the second.
Hawkins - 6 - too slow
Richards - 5 - below par with the ball
Johnson - 7 - did NOTHING but score two goals, the second a SCREAMER. Can't fault that.
Thomson - 8 - Finally, a good performance in the league. Used the ball well, was strong in the tackle too.
Savage - 5 - too slow, but kept posession well.
McLard - 3 - toilet
Anyinsah - 4 - crossed for O.G, but was hopeless otherwise
Virgo - 5 - not a striker, end of story.

Thornton - 9 - UNBELIEVABLY good. Sign him up.
Cox - 5 - good ball skills, crossing a disgrace.

SULLIVAN - 8. Was unlucky with the first goal. Rubbish defending gifted Leicester a goal.

WHING - 6 wasnt great but wasnt too bad. some decent challenges but never ventured forward too much.

RICHARDS - 5 hot shown up by Gradel but seemed better in the second half

ELPHICK - 7 good game. made some good challenges and was our only presence in the air.

HAWKINS - 6 little bit slow. think it was him that gave the ball away for their first goal but not totally sure.

THOMSON - 7 good game.. worked hard

SAVAGE - 7 did a good job sweeping from the defence. didnt put his foot in as much as id like to see but did ok.

ANYINSAH -6 - made some decent runs but no end product. he is right footed so why did he keep cutting in when it seemed easier to put a ball in???

MCLEOD - 6 - did ok.

JOHNSON - 9 - was superb in the first half. Made some great runs and really looked a threat. Was quieter in the second but sat back while Thornton pushed on. Great debut.

VIRGO - 7 - worked hard and tried to win balls for Anyinsah to run onto. Isnt an out and out striker and it shows.

THORNTON - 8 superb-really ran at players and carried Johnsons mantle of creativity in the second half.

COX - 7 - looked reasonable. a few decent chipped through balls but was tidy.

Sullivan 7 - A tad dodgy in the first half, but made a few crucial saves all in all.
Whing 5 - Poor 1st half, but did better 2nd half.
Elphick 7 - Very solid, cleaning up most things.
Hawkins 6 - Good performance, didn't do anything special.
Richards 6 - Not great 1st half, but got forward a lot 2nd half which was pleasing.
Anyinsah 6 - Did all the hard work for the 3rd goal, didnt do much for the first 85 mins!
Thomson 6 - Moved the ball around, but still not great.
Savage 4 - Unimpressed, booked early on.
Johnson 8 - Great signing. Always looked to bomb forward, and what a 2nd goal!
McLeod 6 - Delivered a couple of dangerous balls into the box.
Virgo 6 - A Revell-esque performance. A lot of running but not much else.

Subs:
Thornton 8 - Looked quality, has to start against Millwall
Cox 6.5 - Did a decent job along with Thornton.

absolutely. elphick was outstanding today. although we had a few great performances that outshone him slightly.

Sullivan - 9 - excellent debut. kept us in the game, and has an excellent kick on him, really puts defenders on the back foot.

Whing - 5 - nothing really to note, more disciplined in the second half, got owned 1st half

Richards - 6 - same as whing really. first half all over the place, second half improved but never particularly shone.

Elphick - 9 - outstanding. one error second half with a header he had to stretch for and hawkins cleaned up. other than that he did nothing wrong.

Hawkins - 7 - had an ok game but allways seems a bit shakey to me. not as dominent as elf but did a good job.

McLeod - 5 - didnt really offer much, got into some good positions but didnt take advantage of them.

Savage - 4 - didnt really offer anything to our game.

Thomson - 6 - he played ok. nothing particularly special but he did his job well. his fault for the first goal with a sloppy clearence.

Johnson - 8 - looked composed on the ball and got forward plenty. did his defensive duties... not afraid to shoot and scored 2 goals, second of which was a beaut. looks like a gooden.

Anyinsah - 7/8 - looked better second half up with virgs. but then everyone looked better second half. handful for defenders and did well for winner.

Virgo - 7 - hard job upfront on his own and he did ok considering. but obviously not a striker, let alone lone striker. looked a lot better second half and held the ball up well to link up the play.

Cox - 6 - played OK. some sloppy balls into the box but atleast he tried.

Thornton - 10 - The reason we won this game. Turned it round completely, dont understand why he doesnt start every game? good work to set up both johnson goals, very lively, great touch great passing. dont think he did one thing wrong?

Micky Adams - 6 - Great second half. But questions as to why it wasnt like that at the start? very defensive formation and only changed it when he felt there was no hope of us getting back into it. i feel the players really pulled it out for him tonight... hopefully he doesnt change that team for saturday.

Interesting that so many of you seem to think Sullivan should have conceded a penalty with that challenge. Were those of you that think that sat in the South stand? Cos from where I was sat in the North it was never a pen and the ref's decision was spot on.
