Not a bad game in the end, but had my doubts that we would get much out of it at the half-time whistle.

Kuipers 8. One world-class save in the second half prevented an equaliser.

Whing 6. Average game.

Elphick 9. MOM. Brilliant.

Butters 6. Looks slow too often for my liking.

Mayo 6. OK.

Cox 7. Poor first half, better second. Crossed for at least one of the goals, or was it both?

Thomson 6. Captain for the day. Almost scored ... has he ever been as far forward?? Difficult player to judge. Doesn't do anything spectacular and anonymous for much of the time.

Racon 7. Much better performance.

Westgate 7. Couple of shots. Played better.

Murray 7. Played better than of late and a well taken goal.

Dixon 4. What exactly did he do?

Subs:
Loft 6. Did OK in a striker's role.
Martot 6. OK for the little time he was on the pitch.

Why wasn't Jake on the bench? Injured?

Dixon was ok and showed some nice touches, but with him and murray you could say we have the laziest forward line in the league ;)

I'd prefer Scott Ramsey and Chris McPhee up front. At least you'd know that they would give 100% (as they blazed chance after chance into the stand)

Doesn't say much for Curry's current form if he can only make the bench in that Luton team.

They really weren't very good.

And did he do much when he came on? I wasn't really paying attention.

Did he get a good reception from the Brighton fans??

Well he didnt get any abuse but then again it was a polite applause, was funny when he was warming up and he nodded when we sang "you should have stayed at a big club".

A fair assessment in the original post really.

Kuipers - 7 - comfortable, improved kicking, one good save
Whing - 6 - Steady
Elphick - 8 - really looked interested, flew himself in front of everything.
Butters - 7 - solid in the air
Mayo - 6 - fairly quiet, some good link up with Westlake
Thomson - 7 - MUCH better than Tuesday night, improved passing and got forward more. Surprising choice for the armband.
Racon - 6 - fairly subdued
Westlake - 7 - good header, unlucky not to score before that.
Cox - 6 - a harsh mark given that he set up at least one of the goals
Murray - 8 - perhaps made a note of the criticism in recent games - chased everything and scored a good goal - good passing as well.
Dixon - 4 - anonymous, except for one cross.

Loft - 7 - bright and adventurous

I'm so pleased we have signed Westgate, so much better than that Westlake bloke we have had for the last few games.

You can only beat what is put in front of you but, let's be honest, Luton were absolutely abject. We would have struggled against anyone actually interested and vaguely capable today.

Dixon 4. What exactly did he do?

He played played the ball out wide from a difficult situation to Cox for the first goal. He tracked back and made some strong challenges.

I'd go along with the above, but up Mayo to a 7 ( thought he did well today).

And yes Cox did cross for both goals :clap2:
