Based on a blurry internet stream in Borneo, which was still better than the view at Withdean.

And done before the penalty that wasn't, but doesn't really change things.

Ankergren 8 Not much to do, but flawless
Painter 6 Solid enough
Calderon 9 Excellent, didn't put a foot wrong
Elphick 7 Have to take a point off for the handball, but solid
El-Abd 7 usual performance
Kishishev 9 MOM. In an attritional game, the outstanding player. Bournemouth tried to break everything up but met their match with him
Dicker 7 Some nice passes, and competed hard
Bennett 6 Couldn't really get into it, but some good stuff when in space
Lua Lua 6 Nice goal, otherwise quiet
Barnes 6 Similar performance to Rochdale, couldn't find much space, but lively
Murray 6 Led the line well, but needs to get into more goal-scoring positions

a solid performance really but seem to be a bit short of ideas going forward, the opposition were a bunch of snipers in the true sense and we deserved to beat them ...FACT

I won't give individual scores just some general observations. Ankegren had very little to do, apart from the odd bouncing back pass. I thought the defence looked very solid, especially El Abd and Elphick(barring the handball...). Dicker impressed me in the middle as did Kishishev who got his foot in a hell of a lot. Murray had a good game upfront although unfortunately he didn't have too many chances. Barnes did really well to get himself into some great positions but couldn't capitalise on them.

Ankergren deserves a 9 rating for having to play with a tampon split in two shoved up both nostrils in the 1st half.

Calderon was our best player by quite a way in the first half. Bennett & Murray did ok, defence were solid as usual - but no real stand out performers today.

apart from the goal I thought LuaLua was off his game today.

the first half, Bournemouth sussed our game and kept pushing up whilst we were trying the passing along the defence game, leading to us hoofing it a bit too much. In teh second half I thought we played it better, but we still look weak up front. Murray wins loads of ball, but the final ball or followup is not brilliant.

however saying all that you cant argue with the point and again, we didn't lose a game last year we would have done

Poor game. We should have had it sewn up well before the penalty. That's four points we've chucked away in two weeks.

Bennett had a poor game in the middle. He's a winger ... fecking play him on the wing! Nothing happened down the right because we didn't have a right winger. Gus got that one wrong today.
