Bloody good marks for a team that only had 42% of the possession at home and 3 shots in 90 minutes.

Stand up and applaud the men who tonight took the worlds finest club to within 90 minutes of the pinnacle of sporting achievement

Brighton (world's finest club) were playing in the World Cup (pinnacle of sporting achievement) semi-final?

Feck, what channel was that on? Did we win?

Salute your heroes here. Stand up and applaud the men who tonight took the worlds finest club to within 90 minutes of the pinnacle of sporting achievement. Examine just how GOOD the 11 Red Devils who will go to Moscow to bring the trophy HOME really are. I'll start:

Van der Sar 6 - one or two dodgy moments, but overall not tested.

Hargreaves 8 - magnificent performance from a truly world-class player, even though he was out of position.

Brown 10 - words can't describe what a performance that was:bowdown:

Rio 9 - typical quality performance from England's next captain.

Evra 8 - is there a better left-back in the world right now? He's got it all.

Nani 7 - some great dribbling which is a mouthwatering sign of things to come, but little end product tonight.

Scholes 9 - really rolled back the years with a virtuoso showing.

Carrick 8 - composed when Barca were losing their heads.

Park 8 - I'm not usually a fan, but he was awesome tonight.

Cristiano 9 - as one of the mongs in the commentary box said, not his most flamboyant game, but a crucial team performance all the same:bowdown:

Tevez 8 - really deserved a goal, he ran his socks off tonight.

And there you have it, the 11 gladiators who will bravely fight in Moscow for the greatest prize of all:bowdown:

Can you take these off next time ;)

Van Der Sar 5 : Dodgy

Hargreaves 7 : Solid performance, out of position
Brown 8 : Surprisingly good
Ferdinand 8 : Dominating
Evra 7 : Played well, not his best

Nani 7 : Didn't look out of his depth at all
Scholes 8 : Fantastic goal, great performance
Carrick 7 : Again, didn't look out of his depth, has come on a lot recently
Park 6 : Not bad, did well in what was a big match

Ronaldo 6 : I thought they did a great job on him, Zambrotta played him very well
Tevez 7 : Tireless

Barca:

Valdes 6 : Could do nothing about the goal

Zambrotta 7 : Some great tackles on Ronaldo, but lost his head a bit
Milito 7 : Looks a decent prospect
Puyol 7 : Very solid
Abidal 8 : Looks a fantastic player, got forward well

Xavi 6 : Some good passing, but not enough urgency
Toure 7 : Kept things ticking over well, another good prospect
Deco 8 : Some good shots, took control of the team

Iniesta 6 : Wasn't quite up to it
Eto'o 6 : Didn't look very good, failed to hold the ball up
Messi 9 : The best player on the pitch. Fantastic bit of skill in the second half to take the ball around Scholes.

Van der Sar – 7 - some Kuipers-esque kicking and a fumble, one good save from Messi though.
Evra – 7 – Unbelievable pace, tracked Messi well.
Brown – 9 – a ROCK. Much better in the middle
Rio – 9 – a BEAST. Nothing got past him.
Hargreaves – 7 – again, pace is a real asset. The transformation sine his early England days is unbelievable.
Nani – 4 – Must have been taking lessons from Martot. Didn’t keep the ball, barely contributed, but for one run which he blazed over.
Park – 7 – Showed his experience at this level, lots of running, and good use of the ball.
Carrick – 7 – a bit slow challenging the Barca midfield. Scared perhaps. But a fairly steady performance.
Scholes – 10 – if you can score like that in a Champions League semi, you are a world great. Hasn’t changed my opinion there. Genius. Didn’t get booked either – amazing!
Tevez – 9 – OUTSTANDING running, great use of the ball, superb workrate.
Ronaldo – 8- innovative with the ball, again lots of running and kept possession well. Created a couple of chances. Good defensively as well. Viva Ronaldo, as they sing in Manchester!

Subs:
Fletcher – did well
Giggs – not enough time really, but he should have started for Fanny Nani.
Silvestre – not many players come on in the 93rd and play 3 minutes, but he did bloody well anyway.

Van der Sar 6 - Poor kicking (bit like Kuipers usually)
Hargreaves 7 - Wasn't troubled
Brown 9 - Had Eto'o in his pocket
Ferdinand 8 - Had no one to mark upfront but covered well
Evra 7 - Distribution poor but defensively sound
Nani 6 - Poor game, no end product held on to the ball far too long, be good to see Rooney back soon
Scholes 9 - Great goal, good work rate now hope he stays free from injury for thhe final
Carrick 8 - Done good defensively and probly the best passer Man U had tonight
Park 9 - Magnificant game from him, had end product work hard and got back to help deffence
Cristiano Ronaldo 7 - Quiet game for him
Tevez 9 - Work rate, held up ball well maybe should have shot across the goalie

MOTM could have gone to any of the players who played a 9 but i would give it to Brown.

Park 6 - did ok.

Cristiano 6 - look poor compared to messi

WW, I'm a bit insulted you've brought the names of some Albion players into the ratings of the best club side in the world, even if one of them is Michel. Martot? What possible link has some third division chump to one of Portugal's stars of the future?

You are right, it is a disgrace to the good name of United's superstars. They'd walk into our team.

I'm still drooling about Tevez performance. And that goal. Cor

It was a good goal, but a poor game on the whole. I felt Barca had a bit more potential going forward. 2 of the fron 3 played crap, but Lionel Messi, jesus christ  The guy was the best player on the pitch, dwarfed Ronaldo in my opinion.

Out of curiousity chaps, why exactly do you support the Albion? If you get more pleasure from United's success than the Albion's, it seems odd that you follow the stripes?
