I not really one for giving a score but I'll give my comments about each player instead

Kuszczak: Solid in the area and with the few shots that came his way. A couple of moments where he was put/he put the team under pressure but nothing major
Bruno: Covered a lot of ground but perhaps not as incisive as we are used to
Greer: The weakest of the defenders, his distribution was poor and he was being out-muscled by the striker.
Dunk: Solid return to the first team. A few dodgy moments - a first touch here, a misplaced pass there - but I put that down to rust more than anything else.
Bridge: Strong defensively (summed up by him making up about 25 yards to nick the ball away from behind as the attacker went to shoot) and always a willing runner going forward. Seemed to link well with Barnes.
Hammond: Didn't contribute that much but stifled any attempts to go through the middle. Not the same metronomic presence that Bridcutt is in midfield.
Crofts: Covered ground but again didn't do that much. Some strong tackles that appeared to have been prompted by frustration as much as the ball being there to be won.
Orlandi: Composed with the ball, always had his head up and was aware of where people were. Final ball sometimes lacking, perhaps. Unlucky not to score.
Buckley: Once again our major threat. Beat their leftback often and with ease, although sometimes tried to do too much
Barnes: Put a proper shift in, at one point appearing at right wing back to put a tackle in and start an attack. Could perhaps have got into a bit more space and shot when attacking rather than looking to pass
CMS: Ran around a lot but seemed to be getting a bit frustrated, leading to him snatching at the ball left footed and putting it wide from 9 yards when he could have taken a touch and hit it with his right

Dobbie: Looked good on the ball and was willing to take on the ball and shoot but more often than not was blocked. Nice finish.
Hoskins: Great to see him back, didn't really have much opportunity with the ball to shoot - closed down the defenders/keeper a lot although he's not as quick as CMS
Lopez: Decent cameo, perhaps could argue should have come on sooner

Other comments:
-Bruno and Buckley seemed out of sync, they did work well together, but there seemed to be a beat or too of hesitancy about their passing to each other
-There was a moment when their keeper had just got the ball, and one of their defenders was down. He kicked it up field to a team mate, then seemed to get irate and complained we didn't put it out so their player could get treatment - why not just throw it out?
-Generally good ref, did seem to give some light pushes to them while ignoring constant pushing on CMS, but generally he stayed out of the limelight and let the game flow
-It wasn't a great game. We were dominant and deserved the win for that, but we had no creativity and if we didn't get the win we could hardly have complained.
-Our defence seemed to sit back too deep and were too slow coming out and bringing it forward (even if the forward movement was across the pitch)
-I noticed at one point, Bruno tried to play a pass up the wing and the ball went out. Silence. Greer tried to pass across to Bridge and it went out of play. Silence. Buckley tried to pass to CMS but gave it away. Silence. Barnes tried to pass it to CMS and it. Groans and moans at Barnes. Typical.

I'd echo the last point a lot, Greer was poor last night and for a quarter hour spell he was atrocious but no-one seemed to respond around me. Then ball is hammered at Barnes who took a slightly heave touch and everyone started moaning.

While Buckley and Bruno were creating a lot it did look at times they were too predictable in that they seemed to only want to pass to each other, and very slowly at that. A few times CMS or Crofts made a good run into space only to be ignore by one of Buckley and Bruno who only had dribble or pass to the other on their mind.

On a side note, what were Peterborough complaining about after the goal?
Didn't look offside and no-one appealed at the time but the ref spoke to Boyd and two others, and then was dragged to their bench by the fourth official

According to the sun
Posh chief Darren Ferguson confessed: “It was relentless in the second half, they were bombarding us.

“But there were two fouls and an offside missed when they scored. That sounds like sour grapes but it’s not — we needed a bit of luck but they got it.”

Kuszczak - 5 not a lot to do, made a bizarre choice to punch a low ball across the box which hit greer? could've been catastrophic at 0-0
Bruno - 6 not up to his usual high standard, looked lethargic and complacent like most of the team
Greer - 5 slowed the play from the back a lot of the time, wasn't overly worked, but when came up against the physical threat of their number 9, struggled.
Dunk - 7 looked good on the ball, few dodgy passes but a very good start to the season for him
Bridge - 7 full of energy but seemed to be missing a link up partner hugging the touchline
Hammond - 5 fairly quiet game, for a central midfielder he had the ability and was in the position to up the teams game but didn't
Orlandi - 8 showed some creativity and very good touches, always trying to encourage others forward and on another night would've grabbed himself a goal
Crofts - 5 same as hammond
Buckley - 7 worked hard on the wing, will run all night, some good invention for getting past players, just felt it wasn't his night but put in a solid performance
Barnes - 6 worked hard, after a few dodgy touches at the start didn't shy away, got stuck in and tracked back well. i'm still not sure what his role in the team is supposed to be
CMS - 6 poor night for him, the effort is always there and its great from a fans perspective. probably should've scored at least 2. the main thing is that he's getting himself into these positions. the goals will start flowing.

Subs:
Dobbie - 7 now showing signs of improvement, i know this boy has talent, good touch and close control, blessed with pace he is not and has got a good shot. excellent composure for the finish.
Hoskins - 6 good to finally see him, looked lively. I expect more cameo appearances like this in the future
Lopez - 4 took a few corners, didn't have enough time to influence the game

I've watched the highlights several times and Hoskins is onside, just.
