For me yet again the team came onto the pitch with completely the wrong attitude. Really starting to worry about the team spirit. The opposition start like the home team every week.

The Pole 7. Looked a bit uncertain on a couple of crosses.
Bruno 5. One of his poorest games in my opinion. Much of what he tried just did not come off. And looked slow.
Greer 6. Not one of his best games.
Dunk 8. Very good. Maybe we should see him and ElAbd at CB?
Bridge 8. Did not get forward as much as previously, but good defensively.
Hammond 5. Did his defensive stuff OK, but needs to move the ball FORWARD much much quicker.
Crofts 7. Didn't stand out, but presume he was doing what was asked.
Orlandi 8. My MOM. Very good display.
Barnes 7. Decent enough game. Should have scored.
Buckley 8. Just shaded for MOM by Orlandi. A few too many poor passes.
CMS 6. Just not his day. You're a STRIKER. Put the fecking ball in the back of the net!

Subs:
Dobbie 8. Looked good. Nice goal.
Hoskins 7. Looked OK. Should be given longer.
David - not long enough.

The United Kingdom of Mile Oak
PIG 6 nothing to do
Bruno 7 crap 1st half, outstanding 2nd
Bridge 8 excellent game
Greer 4 weakest player in the team
Dunk 8 excellent game
Hammond 7 asked to do a holding midfield role that he's not used to
Buckley 8 always a threat.
Orlandi 8 same as Buckley
Crofts 6 ok nothing remarkable
CMS 6 same as last year v Peterbro...psychologically seems not to want to score against them
Barnes 8 won the ball which led to the goal and then played the 1-2 with Dobbie. Worked hard and pulled their left back out of position which created loads of space for Bridge.
Dobbie 8 - looks good in deeper role and is starting now to settle down. Brilliant goal and will score lots of goals from deeper position
Hoskins 7 - chuffed to see him back and looks a constant threat.
Spanish Dave 6 - unlucky not to score at the end.

Hassocks
Kuszczak 6 - Not much to do
Bruno 6 - A threat going forward but did seem to give the ball away
Greer 5 - too many wasteful lumps forward
Dunk 6 - OK for his first start but didn't see anything that suggests he should keep the shirt over El-Abd
Bridge 7 - Great player in defence and attack
Hammond 5 - He sure ain't no Bridcutt
Crofts 4 - Very poor
Orlandi 7 - Looks to create but disappears at times
Buckley 7 - Always threatening just wish he'd look up before crossing to ball to no-one
Barnes (1st half) 2 - Awful, was he even playing?
Barnes (2nd Half) 7 - Got stuck in and created chances
CMS 6 - wasteful

Dobbie 7 - looks to have great close control and a neat finish
Hoskins - Good to see him back, shame he didn't get anywhere near the ball
Spanish Dave - Not really on long enough but in the time still made a positive impact

Kuszczak 6 Not a lot to do, not sure what he was up to with a 2nd half cross
Bruno 7 marked higher for his attacking contribution in 2nd half
Greer 5 A lot of wayward passing
Dunk 7 Solid, did not do much wrong
Bridge 7 Same as Bruno
Hammond 6 Ok
Crofts 5 Bit anonymous
Orlandi 7 Best player in 1st half, some players caught him up with 2nd half performance
Buckley 8 Main attacking threat
Barnes 8 Busy, didn't put a foot wrong apart from his attempt at header from corner going woefully wide!!
CMS 5 Not his best game

Dobbie 7 Good runs with ball and GOAL!!

Based on the first half most would struggle to get a 4. 2nd half much better so here goes.

Kuszczack 6 Nothing to do but what he had to do he did competently.
Bruno 7 Best game since his injury but not up to his best yet.
Greer 5 Too many mistakes that normnally El Abd covers up.
Dunk 6 Ok not good nor bad but could have been punished for clumsy and unnecessary lunge tackles
Bridge 7 Very competent performance Mr Reliable.
Buckley 7 Only criticism is he goes to meet Bruno rather than making space by getting forward to attack the full back.
Croft 5 Generally poor seems a yard off of the pace and a pale imitation of when he was here previously
Hammond 8 MOM very good performance controlled the midfield could play more forward balls but probably under instruction to keep possession at all costs.
Orlandi 7.5 Good performance but very left footed
Barnes 7 Tries hard and puts in 100% effort, but something seems to be missing from his game to win over the supporters.
CMS 5 Not his best game but no reason for concern.

Subs:

Dobbie 7 Is improving with every game and must be near a start but who in place of
Hoskins 6 Nothing much of note but good to see him on the pitch.
Lopez n/a Tactical substitution and not on long enough to form an opinion

Kuszczak 7 - Plucked some high balls with ease, taking the reassure of defence, but not a lot to do
Bruno 7 - some good, some bad
Greer 4.5 - Really starting to frustrate me. He slows everything down at the back and his passing was way off tonight. Cross field passes going straight out, short passes to Dunk being under hit, at least once almost costing us.
Dunk 7 - Did well coming in for El Abd
Bridge 8 - Good defensively, got forward with intent and had some good shots
Hammond 7 - Ok in the first half, better in he second. Worked well as a sort of sweeper
Crofts 8 - Constantly trying to make space for himself - something not enough of our players were doing, showed good attacking intent
Orlandi 7.5 - Really seems to be growing into the side and our system. Great shot that hit the post
Buckley 7 - seemed too predictable and far too lightweight on the ball, but a constant thorn
Barnes 8 - Did well mostly, a few poor passes behind him, including for the goal, he showed strength and tenacity to keep at it and force the ball through for Dobbie. Constantly making himself available, some good touches and some strength under challenge
CMS 7 - Struggled with the shooting, but can't be faulted for effort.

Dobbie 7.5 - great composure for the goal
Hoskins - Good to see him get game time, but not sure he had long enough to really assess
Lopez - Not on long enough

Other comments:
-Bruno and Buckley seemed out of sync, they did work well together, but there seemed to be a beat or too of hesitancy about their passing to each other
-There was a moment when their keeper had just got the ball, and one of their defenders was down. He kicked it up field to a team mate, then seemed to get irate and complained we didn't put it out so their player could get treatment - why not just throw it out?
-Generally good ref, did seem to give some light pushes to them while ignoring constant pushing on CMS, but generally he stayed out of the limelight and let the game flow
-It wasn't a great game. We were dominant and deserved the win for that, but we had no creativity and if we didn't get the win we could hardly have complained.
-Our defence seemed to sit back too deep and were too slow coming out and bringing it forward (even if the forward movement was across the pitch)
-I noticed at one point, Bruno tried to play a pass up the wing and the ball went out. Silence. Greer tried to pass across to Bridge and it went out of play. Silence. Buckley tried to pass to CMS but gave it away. Silence. Barnes tried to pass it to CMS and it. Groans and moans at Barnes. Typical.

Christ on a bike how the hell did you come up with that!!!! Hammond was poor, very poor. Granted he wasn't playing in his normal position but why does he need at least two touches every time the ball comes to him? Bruno was clear calling for the ball but Hammond he took two touches and then played it to Greer and so by the time Bruno got the ball, he had a couple of boro players breathing down his neck. Bridcutt is one touch, quick of thought and creates ... Hammond is two touches, slow and passes the ball backwards, he's also stationary which screws it up for the back four.
8 .... bloody 8!!!!!!! Shocking

Agreed, 100%. Hammond was diabolical last night, I mean absolutely sh1t. I have no idea anymore why he has a place on the team, he gave nothing to the game last night at all and should have gone off for an early bath in favour of someone else, even Dicker (yes I know) might have performed better.

Interesting to see how many NSCers have given Greer the lowest rating for last night. I feel that his form has dipped inspite of having Bruno, AEA and Bridge around him probably our strongest defensive combo for many years and has looked vulnerable and less composed in most games this season. Maybe he is struggling a bit at this level and teams seem to know to put him under pressure very quickly. I think he relies a bit too much on AEA and Bridcutt to tidy up around him.

It was good to see Dunk get a run out but he hasn't had much first team footie of late and after all it was only 'Peterborough'. I'm not anti-Greer but wouldn't surprise me to see another central defender brought in before the end of the season as part of the development of the squad. No harm in having options for the future.

Kuszczak 7 - Solid. Continues to inspire confidence with the way he comes for crosses and dominates his area.
Bruno 7 - I thought he was poor first half but was one of those who crucially upped his game second half. He and Buckley are some partnership down the right.
Greer 6 - Did okay but looked a bit rattled by Barnett at times.
Dunk 7 - I was worried about him coming back but he was actually very good. He has in class what Adam has in strength and power.
Bridge 7 - Continues his great run of form. Great in defence and a real threat in attack.
Hammond 6 - Just about did the basics necessary to keep the side ticking from that vital DMF role.
Crofts 6 - Really put himself about and some great tackles but disappointing on the ball.
Orlandi 7 - Great performance again. Lovely footballer. But for a so-called deadball specialist he really needs to be beating the first defender more.
Buckley 8 - Always available, always wants the ball and always a threat.
Barnes 8 - Love the guy and his awkward style. A determined display and never stopped working.
CMS 6 - Not a great game by CMS. He had two great chances from headers in the first half and made a mess of another couple of great chances in the second.

Subs

Dobbie 7 - Provides something a bit different. Quick feet and a silky touchy for the goal.
Hoskins 6 - Good to see him back.
Spanish Dave 6 - Not on long but almost scored.

Tomas Kuszczak 7 Handling was good, kicking was scary but sound, and never looked troubled.
Bruno 5 No worries defensively, but didn't do as much in attack as usual and clearly going through a dodgy spell at the moment. Class is permanent though...
Gordon Greer 6 Did nothing wrong and got forward toward the end. No threat at attacking set pieces though which is a shame.
Lewis Dunk 6 Comfortable on the ball, technically very good and had no problems last night. Going to be class act, could oust Greer before long.
Wayne Bridge 6 Effort and endeavour, looked a class above but wasn't at his usual high level. Some decent long range efforts though.
Dean Hammond 5 Did an unfussy job but nowhere near as good at it as Liam Bridcutt.
Andrew Crofts 4 Not performing at the moment, not sure whether he didn't trust Hammond to do the Bridcutt role so dropped deep, or was told to.
Andrea Orlandi 8 Thought he looked very good and his shooting was fantastic. Very important player.
Will Buckley 7 Did ok, worked hard and had their full backs on toast but end product wasn't brilliant too often.
Ashley Barnes 6 In Gus I trust. But I wouldn't pick him. Certainly not in central midfield when Crofts went off. He is a good STRIKER, when played there.
Craig Mackail-Smith 5 Worked hard but could have been closer to the keeper more, he's not unflappable. Poor finishing.

Subs
Stephen Dobbie 7 Cracking finish, good with his feet and far more creative than Barnes.
Will Hoskins and David Lopez N/A You can't bring them on and give them no time, but we scored after they came on.
