Paul McCartney knew what he was getting into whwn he married her, he obviously let his pants do the thinking and try to prove to people and himself he could get a young glamoure model as a wife. It's his own daft fault if he got caught caught out.
Also, we don't know what went on behind closed doors. He could have been a right arsehole for all we know.

Before - no one had ever heard of her and no one cared
After - the sick celebrity loving culture in this country guarantees her an appearance on daytime TV anytime she likes and a multi million book deal.
So the argument goes that HE and enhanced HER chances and he should be getting a cut from her earnings and not the other way round.
