That is a shame... hopefully we can get a replacement of the calibre of Crichton or Keely. We have been blessed with decent goalkeeping coaches over the last few years.

Do we get any sort of fee for him, or at least compensation, surely as they are buying him out of his contract??

I imagine we would recieve an agreed amount of compensation from Norwich City.

Bring in Ben Roberts.

Best keeper we've had in years.

That would be a top idea, whether or not he's fit enough for it though is another thing.

Funny how we had never heard of him when he got here and were more worried about losing JK to Pompey. But now looking back I reckon he did a bloody good job while he was here. After all we now have two first choice keepers under contract at the club for the first time since 1984.

Thanks Paul, and good luck.

Although he didn't exactly teach either of them how to kick very well.

What about Michel for 'keeping coach, nice way to finish his career as a player, and start on the coaching side?

That would be a good idea, although who would coach Michel? (every player, whatever level, can improve from a bit of coaches' input) Also, has kuipers got any coaching badges?

I would love to see him as a coach in the future though - he clearly loves the club.

Did he leave because he was disappointed to lose his place on the bench?

it maybe a good idea, but I think we need to move on and move forawrd with Falmer coming up. By this I mean we need to ditch this "re-employ" old players type thing. It has let us down however nice the players are.

We need to be more serious and more professional in everything if we are going to progress, not just re-employ old players because they were nice and were good at football.

If we continue the way were are going we will have a coaching set up of Kuipers, Butters, oatway and Forster, none of which have ever taken a coaching role, and will be chucked in the deep end and we end up sliding back down the footballing heirachy

Kuipers has been a great servant to us and at times a brilliant keeper, however, I don't think it'd work out quite so well for him as a coach. He's a keeper almost with his own brand of technique and his best attribute is his agility and shot-stopping, as a keeper that's not really something you're taught - you either have it or you don't, so I don't think it'd be much use having him as a coach.

Ben Roberts on the other hand...
