When the dogs head's were cast, there appeared to be a lot of attention given to the precise positioning and angle of the protruding metal plate at the front, as circled below

Yes, and there will also be one under the west stand roof.
They're the lighting gantries.

It looks like they are starting to extend the South stand towards the west today. The foundations for the steelwork have been prtepared and a crane is ready to lift

I may be wrong, but the arch doesnt fit!
If you measure the first bit on the screen its 4.5cm long but the gap between the left dog head and the post is 9.5cm.
Nightmare!
I may know nothing about engineering, or building, or perspective or life but I'm worried.
