Makes the man look diddy! Is the level going to get lower/higher or is the chalk surface roughly where the grass will be when finished?

Didn't realise it was down to the chalk base, i though it was just still the topping to protect the soil underneath.
But seeing that trench obviously not.
In which case there is still a lot to come out if it is going to have any depth of soil.

When's the undersoil heating going in?

I think Natterjack said the pitch area will be handed over to the Pitch Contractor in the early new year...

From an Anorak on perspective,

with the pitch area x 450mm ( depth of soil advised by NJ) what is that in tons, or lorry loads, i know itd a f***ing lot, but how much ?

.45 x 120 x 90 approx allowing for whole are not just playing area = 4860 m3 soil is approx .75 of a ton per cube so 3645 tons of 183 x 20 ton lorry loads!!
