I see Townsend was bigging up Hart as one of the keepers of the tournament. Yes, he has had a fine save but he's also fluffed a corner and really shouldn't have been beat at his near post from range, especially as he got a hand to it. Not all that world class just yet.

Unfortunately too right.

Nonsense, Joe Hart is brilliant. Nothing he could have done about the goal, poor closing down. Open goal miss was poor, Milner has made little impact. Young has been utterly terrible, and the Chambermaid has only had 1 involvement. As a team, though, looking good.

Joe Hart is very good but he's not the finished article. Entirely understandable as this is his first tournament match. Interesting match so far and better control from England than I had hoped for.

Thankfully half time. After we scored we seemed to do what we were expected to do from the start - sit back and park the bus. Obviously we can't do that, not against this team. But, because we did, they were in an attacking mindset, got the goal and kept going. Now we've got the break we can hopefully readjust and come out and not just sit back and hold what we've got.

It is a good job Milner works hard.

Johnson hasn't done much wrong I don't think, France haven't caused us many problems. Debuchy has looked good down the right, but Cole isn't too bothered by him.

Young's pass for Milner was fantastic, that is what he does but he hasn't done it much. I prefer him from the left, he gets more time to influence the game. He isn't Rooney, however much he thinks he is. I would prefer Carroll for Chambermaid, two up front with Milner and Young out wide. The only problem would be a lack of width but we aren't playing with any anyway, and 2 up would cause Rami and Mexes problems. They don't look impenetrable.

I'm watching on Dutch TV (I get BBC here but not ITV) and they were quite positive about England's performance. Aad De Mos in the studio did blame Hart for the goal though.
