Hello

My band is looking to make the long trip south from Sheffield to do a gig in Brighton in the summer.

Can anyone recommend a decent venue? We're kind of quiet acoustic indie-pop (have a listen at www.mstu.co.uk) so no metal bars please!

Have to agree, no offence but if you're not sure how big a crowd you will pull the Free Butt is your choice. If you think you will pull a fair size crowd then the Concorde could do it for you. Might be worht a call to the owner/manager of the Pressure Point, know he is heavily involved in The Kooks and The Ordinary Boys

Pressure Point is always good. But have others have said it all depends on how big a crowd you think you will pull.

Yeah, obviously we're not looking for a massive venue, it'll be our first gig in brighton, so apart from my friends and family there's not gonna be that many people who've heard of us.

On a similar theme, can anyone recommend brighton bands that are a similar genre who we could contact for a possible support spot/gig swap?

Kooks are playing at the Dome in September, and doing a nationwide tour. No idea if they have sorted out support yet

Can have a couple of words if you want, think the Free Butt would be your best choice, saw The Feeling there a few weeks ago, great little venue imo

Free Butt sounds perfect actually, will definitely investigate further.

We got contacted via myspace about playing The Prince Albert. anyone know what that's like?
