I loved the Black Grape album, but was it really better that the Monday's Pills, Thrills....?

Surely not.

Tough call, has to be said. But I reckon Black Grape just edge it, because after the Mondays blew-up, and Shaun Ryder had been written off as a terminal case, the sheer *cough* BOUNCEBACKABILITY of the boy with It’s Great When You’re Straight Yeah was a bit special aye? A classic album out of a clear blue sky

The NME has and will always be a bag of wank.

I think your choices are influenced by the age you were when the albums came out, mine would be

1. Closer: Joy Division
2. The Smiths: The Smiths
3. Pornography: The Cure
4. Script of the Bridge: The Chameleons
5. Setting Sons: The Jam
6: The Stone Roses: The Stone Roses
7: Radiohead: OK Computer
8: Movement: New Order
9: Nowhere: Ride
10: So: Peter Gabriel

Two songs stand out on that album for me -

1. Shake Your Money is sheer quality
2. A Big Day in the North was the song i was singing on the way to the York "riot" game. Shaun Ryder is always a suitable soundtrack to public disorder :lolol:

That's not a bad call: Pink Flag and Entertainment would certainly be in mine. Prefer Low to Ziggy as a Bowie album
But no Rip, Rig and Panic?

The Top Ten is as follows:
1. The Stone Roses 'The Stone Roses'
2. The Smiths 'The Queen Is Dead'
3. Oasis 'Definitely Maybe'
4. Sex Pistols 'Never Mind The Bollocks'
5. Arctic Monkeys 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not'
6. Blur 'Modern Life Is Rubbish'
7. Pulp 'Different Class'
8. The Clash 'London Calling'
9. The Beatles 'Revolver'
10. The Libertines 'Up The Bracket'

Discuss.

Personally I agree with number one but thats about it.

this is possibly the most outrageous list i have EVER seen and shows, yet again, that the NME have no real knowledge or passion for decent music. Simply a Top Of The Pops on tight trousers.

no Bowie?
no Who?
no Stones?
no Specials?
no Super Furries (blatatantly the best British band of the last 10 years)
no Massive Attack?

no f***ing soul
no dance

pile of shit.
