Most of the times that I find myself referring to the new stadium in conversation these days, the words "Falmer's looking really good" come out of my mouth. It's a reminder to some people that Falmer didn't look that good until we built the stadium there.

"The Amex is looking really good" is preaching to the converted.

all 3 actually. I'll be going to "Falmer", "The AMEX", and "football". It will mean the same thing, and I won't be anal enough to get worried about it.

Spot on. I use all three expressions (actually have surprised myself how quickly I have got used to calling it the Amex). Really not a big deal.
