Yes it does. The shirt belongs to the one season. Hence the apostrophe. It is the shirt of the season 2011/2012, i.e. the season's shirt 2011/2012

If it had said '2011/12 season's shirt' you would be right. But it doesn't, and is therefore incorrect. If it's referring to a single season it should simply say 'season'. Massive cock up in my opinion, and I'm with TiD.
