Off down the A3 to Stains........................not exactly Man U but an improvement on where he was I guess
£1.5m is the agreed fee for Clyne to move to Saints
I thought they were supposed to be offering £6M for Clyne and Winifred , valuing the Olympic class diver at £4.5M
£1.5m eh? So basically what we sold Adam Virgo (one of our youth products) to Celtic for about 7 years ago!!! Good work from the best youth academy in the world.
Very good youngster will be missed 1.5 is all were get if it goes to tribunal
Exactly the buying club would say he is worth £1M , Palace would say £2M and the tribunal split the difference. Southampton have offered a decent price.
According to The Mirror, Palace value Clyne at £3.5m even while out of contract. Southampton have offered about half that, but the board are confident that the other interested clubs will pay more than Southampton will.
Why? If one club offered Palace £4m, but he wanted to go elsewhere, Palace can't make him agree terms with the first club. If he wants to go to SCC and they want him, there's nothing Palace can do.Ultimately Clyne will go to whoever gives Palace the most money
This is all a bit of a head f*** really as it's almost like a normal transfer situation but with Palace's hands tied.
Clyne is out of contract, so if he is not happy with who Palace agree the 'best' fee with, he can just refuse to sign for them and instead sign for his preffered team and let it go to tribunial.
Is that right?
Palace can negotiate all they want, but surely it's clynes choice as a free agent to pick his next team.
Fixed.Exactly the buying club would say he is worth £1M , Palace would say £200M

I'd imagine if one club offered Palace £4m, Clyne would be going there. He'd be under a massive amount of pressure to get the best deal for the club that made his career.
.
There's no way Palace would say £2m in a tribunal though, they'd probably say £8m or something daft. We're taking about Clyne , not Winifred

Realistically if he goes to Southampton, he won't be there long. They could easily get relegated next season, and Clyne won't want to be in the Championship for another 15 years at least.
Bollocks , he will be trying to get the best deal for himself , £££'s , length of contract , bonuses and add ons. Southampton were already preparing themselves for the Premier League two seasons ago when they tried to keep up with us as we stormed League 1.I'd imagine if one club offered Palace £4m, Clyne would be going there.
