How do you know you haven't seen the film yet.
He's got form.

In his last film, he ruined it by enabling his anti hero to walk back to a house where his son - who had gone off to fight the war - was SAFE AND SOUND with his mummy.

So not quite the spirit of the original book then.

It is simple Garth, if people are going to make films on true events (especially ones that are within living memory for people) I would like them to stick to the facts and not ammend them to suit their preconceived idea, ego or the fact it will make the ending better for them.

 Well said, that man.

I biw down ago to the intellectural might of " Simster " and " Uncle Buck ".

They say Spielberg is shit therefore it must be true.

Infact this Munich film is so dodgy I don't think I will now bother to go and see it. I will stay in and watch Bucky's recommendation on DVD, the Dukes of Hazzard, instead.

Not bad, because it was well directed and superbly acted in most cases.

Nausiating on many levels for me. But in particular, you'd be forgiven for thinking that the only persecuted group in Germany were the Jews. I also resent the way Schindler was portrayed at some sort of hero.

Garth, not said it was shit, I said it was factually incorrect.

Anyway I told you the film to see, which was the Constant Gardener.

Ummm...well he DID safe quite a few Jews from the death camps. Which I thought was fairly decent of him.

You might want to check that it has a happy ending first before you settle in and watch that one.

If not, my son has the "Adventures of Noddy" DVD which I can lend you on his behalf, as long as you can post it back sharpish.

He was a member of the Nazi party who made a fat load of cash out of Jewish slave labour before growing a conscious.

A proper little mother Theresa then.

It's about historical events that took place in Poland. It is of course true that a range of other people including Roma, Socialists, Communists, Trade Unionists, the disabled, etc suffered terribly under the Nazis and they are, in fact, remembered at Yad Vashem but the murder of 6 million people does tend to stand out a bit.

The objection, if there is one, is the way in which Spielberg manipulations the emotions of his audience in fairly crude fashion. Polanski's "The Pianist" tends to avoid that technique and is a better film, IMO, for it.

... just not as much as the murder of 10 million communists, thanks to the likes of Spielberg.

And you are of course correct regarding his manupulation of audience emotions.

I've explained my reasoning Garth, now run along and watch ET. Hasn't Drew Barrymore grown, eh?
