Non football related sorry, well kinda maybe is.

Looking to move to Brighton towards the end of this summer from sunny Huddersfield, just wondered if you could give me some tips on best areas to live that are relatively cheap and whether jobs are fairly easy to attain etc.

Plus is there a pool league in Brighton?

Thanks

There is no "cheap" part of Brighton! The cheapest areas would be Moulscoomb or Whitehawk

Jobs of course are available if you are not a dole scrounger and put up with whatever whilst you look for a job of choice.

Yes there is a pool league.

Good luck:thumbsup:

would not suggest brighton for cheap! Look along the coast, shoreham, lancing, worthing are 15miles or so outside of brighton but better value for money and still decent areas

Depending on your circumstances, the cheapest way to live at the moment would be to sort out a flatshare if that is possible. Do you have dependants etc? Gumtree.com: UK's No. 1 in classifieds - jobs, property, cars and more is good for that. Other than that, I would suggest perusing Properties for sale, homes to rent, overseas property, retirement properties and new homes on rightmove.co.uk to give you an idea of the potential costs you face.

Are you looking to rent or purchase? If you can, I would avoid living towards East Brighton and attempt to get somewhere around Preston Park or perhaps the Brunswick area. There are some affordable flats around there. Private letting may be your best bet.

What sort of business are you in? There is a fair amount of seasonal work, public sector (council) etc.

Rent a two bed flat in Brighton itself will cost at least £800 PCM

No areas are cheap.

Even Moulsecoombe flats are about double the price of a 4 bed semi in Huddersfield.

And forget about getting a good job unless you do something highly specialised that there's currently a demand for. Otherwise it's call centre or general office dogsbody rubbish.

Unless you want to be a cleaner, like nibble

eastlondon seagull, pretty much everywhere in Huddersfield is cheap, but steer clear of places like Deighton, Dalton, Fartown, best areas like Milnsbridge, Marsh, fairly close to Town centre but cheap also and good links to motorways shops etc, jesus I should be an estate agent!

No dependants, only 20 years old just fancy seeing a different part of the company for a while, flatshare seems like a fantastic idea at least until I find my feet.

I have worked in sales all my career so far but would hardly call that specialised. To be honest im not looking for a career down south ill probably end up moving back after a couple of years just fancy seeing something different so not bothered about being a dogsbody!

Brighton's more expensive than parts of London now, so good luck!

I'd definitely consider looking at Worthing and Hove etc. Plenty of sales jobs between Brighton, Horsham, Crawley and Gatwick. Check a few recruitment websites for sales in West Sussex would be a wise idea.

Just had a look on rightmove and you can get a pretty shoddy looking bedsit in centre for around 400 a month might be a good option, but flatshare would probably be the best coming into a big city on my own!
