Barnes 9-4 (69%) 10-3 if you count the rebound (77%)
CMS 1-1 (50%)
Dicker 1-1 (50%)
Murray 2-3 (40%)
Bennett 1-2 (33%)
Harley 0-1 (0%)

CMS took one against Watford earlier this season?

Wasn't there some stat in the Argus on Monday about our penalties? Something along the lines that, out of the last 100 we've taken in match competition (ie not in shoot-outs) every one has been on target. It's just that a fair few have been saved. But nobody has missed the goal....

From those diagrams above, it's pretty obvious that slotting one low to the keeper's left or right is the danger shot. Why haven't players ever worked this out? Why don't they aim to either smash it down the middle (off the ground) or to get some height on it & go for the large areas above diving height either side? It can't be much more difficult than some of the precision (and thus lacking power) finishes some of them aim for in the bottom corner.

On the rare occasions I took penalties in my footballing lifespan- and admittedly that was mostly in training, owing to the fact I played in goal, I always used to aim for the top corner. I rarely got it wrong, and I was RUBBISH. How it is that a bunch of professional footballers have never perfected the art in training of wanging a ball into that area? I don't just mean the Albion, just footballers in general.

I see that CMS has put himself forward for future penalties.

I am not happy about that as even though he has 2 from 3, he has not looked convincing.

Dobbie recently has been the only one who looks like he knows what he is doing from the spot.

2 good pen takers in recent years before Gus were Hammond and Knight - can someone assemble their stats to compare if we are scoring fewer now? Is there anyone else that took, say > 5 pens to see how stats compare.
Maybe we don't practice them?

CP have had twice as many Pens as anyone else? (And have been excellent at sticking them away)
