and this is based on?

I am genuinely interested.
blimey... where have you been? Get yourself down to the County Ground and you'll soon get the picture as you are ripped off at every turn before finding Gus Mackay and his cronies on the Dexter Terrace swilling Chardonnay at your expense... the man is presiding over the destruction of a once great club and needs to be ousted before he can do more damage

NSC's Most Stalked
£200 for season membership and 20/20
BYO Alcohol has be been stopped to buy £3.50 pints of bitch piss in a plastic cup
£5.50 for bacon butty and chips - which isnt nice
Pick n Mix is through the roof
Members area is moved for 20/20 games in favour for family area
£21 for one 20/20 game
£15 fo FPT games
£15 for Pro40 games
£20 for Pro40 floodlit games
£13 for 1 day of a CC game

It used to be a cheap and cheerful place to go, where everyone would enjoy themselves, but now, its all about ripping off the fans - and Tuesday proved the money has gone too far and people have failed to show up to watch what is the best cricket team in the last 4/5 years

.............and he has destroyed the concept of being a member. Members being turned away from the Jim Parks bar unless they pay more money and you cannot sit where you want to unless accompanied by a child. Then you find that area for members has been reduced to the size of a postage stamp and don't get me started on that flipping terrace which is hardly used for dining by thge public but by staff on free lunches or staff meetings. Yet that area was one of the most popular members area. It also now blocks the view of a third of theground if you sit in the NW corner under the players pavilion.

There used to be a lovely atmosphere at the county ground but in the last 3 years it has all been about money.

The alcohol ban is nothing to do with mackay- its not allowed to be taken in to any ground for 20/20.

The unused terrace, however,

and the family enclosure being situated where it is and cutting the members area in half is quite disgraceful IMHO.

This from The Oval (you can discount the guff about international crciekt for our purposes ). The close consultation with Police etc was the standard onewas done by the ECB

Alcohol Policy
The ICC has implemented a ban on the importation of alcohol, glass containers and metal cans across all grounds hosting International Cricket in the world from 2006.

Following close consultation with the Police and Health and Safety advisors this regulation will apply to all “Category A” matches at The Brit Oval from 2006 onwards. Games defined as “Category B” will be unaffected by these changes.

Category A matches at the Brit Oval are all matches under the control of the England & Wales Cricket Board. The ground will host the following category A matches in 2008;

NatWest Series One Day International England v New Zealand - 29 August
npower Test Match - 7 to 11 August
NatWest Series One Day International England v South Africa - 29 August
In addition to this, the Australian Rules fixture as well as any domestic Twenty20 Cup matches will also possess the “Category A” status.

Despite the ban, the Brit Oval will ensure that their bar facilities are managed in the most efficient way possible to meet any extra demands. There have also been discussions with some wine suppliers to widen the range of wines available inside the ground.

The policy has been introduced for a number of reasons. The most important being that should an incident occur during a major match, the control of the ground is made significantly easier by the closure of all bars, which would then prevent any further consumption from personal supplies so the incident could be controlled.

The ground will also be providing plastic containers for beer in preference to glass or cans, which have sometimes in the past been used as dangerous missiles or projectiles.

Category B matches on the other hand have not been affected by these changes and spectators to Liverpool Victoria County Championship, Friends Provident Trophy and NatWest Pro40 League matches will be able to bring into the ground a maximum of 4 x 500ml cans of beer or lager or a 750ml plastic container of wine per person. No other forms of alcohol are permitted.

Decisions on any other events at the Brit Oval will be taken in conjunction with the relevant organisers or rights holders prior to the sale of tickets.
