On the driving thing, state speed limit in Florida is 70mph on the freeways. you'll be fine at 75, any more and you're likely to get pulled - and there are a lot of cops in Florida. beware also of radar traps going through towns where the speed limit drops to 25mph.
South Beach is absolutely rocking at night, and there are stacks of good hotels that are not too pricey. It's a really exciting, buzzy kind of place with loads going on and some of the most beautiful women on the planet - be prepared to buy them drinks all night...
