And another thing:-

She went into wedding overdrive afterwards, dunno where she got that idea from I only asked, I didn't say it would be soon .

Going on about church vs civil etc, then in her ramblings mentioned clothes & colours to which I said "well I'll have blue & white strips in some form or another" to which she said "no".

No prizes for guessing my reply, but she soon realised I meant it.

I can't remember how I proposed to my first wife as it was so long ago. With Mrs BHA I stood outside a jewelers in the Lanes and was admiring the rings. I asked if she saw anything she liked and she said she did (thankfully it wasn't too expensive). She tried it on and it was a perfect fit, the rest is history (as she is now too).

I proposed to my missus on the storoke of midnight new years eve 2001.

I had drunk 6 cans of stella and half a bottle of dark rum and at the stroke of midnight I slurred in her ear "Darling I love you, will you marry me" to which she replied " that bette rnot be a f***ing joke", I replied "No I'm serious" and she burst into tears.

Had a bastard of a hangover the next day when I woke up too. Quickly removed when my folks turned up with a bottle of champagne.

She actually said she thought it was romantic in a kind of drunken way.

I took her out to choose the ring the next day so I didn't get that bit wrong.

Blimey.
