Are you sure about that? Doesn't sound right to me. According to ACRO there were less than 1000 deaths last year in aviation accidents.

I'm not convinced it's safer, because although you have more accidents in cars, I'd venture a guess that a much higher percentage of plane crashes are fatal (ie 90%) compared to car accidents (20%? We've all had little bumps and scrapes)

Of course. When there is an accident, plane crashes are more fatal.

It's safer with regards to the the possibilty of an accident, if you're getting into a plane, the chance is less likely than a car.

If a car crashes you may die, chances are you will survive. But if a plane crashes, then youre likely to die, f*** knows why they give you life jackets!
