Luton - Standing v Sitting

I was mildly amused today to watch Liz Costa and Sarah Watts have a running battle with the stewards because people (in fact 99.99999% ) of the Brighton end were standing and they sat on their bottoms and couldn't see anything as a result.

They even tried the police over the "issue" but er couldn't actually resolve the problem themselves by er standing up like everyone else. Sometimes people think they are just too important I guess..

Paul Samrah sitting nearby with some kids were obviously also unable to see and I think the kids moved somewhere else only to be moved on to somewhere else again.

Now we can go on and on about the annoyance of people standing and blocking others views but ultimately when you take kids to away games (as I have done frequently) you realise this may happen and adjust accordingly, as in fact Paul Samrah appeared to, after some mild discussion with the stewards.

Liz and Sarah however are grown adults.....

And yes I know they do more for our club then any of of us, so I am sure they deserve to sit where they like and expect everyone else to form a circle of congratulations around them with an unpeded view of the pitch at all times but honestly why didn't they just get off their....

By the way for the record I was not impeding their or the kids views but was watching the comedy from afar. Made a drab first half more entertaining.

I tried sitting at half time but my legs were too long and I was unable to sit comfortably. During the game everyone was standing, as did I.

I was rather glad the stewards didn't tell everyone to sit down during the game.

SW was the cause of me getting ejected from the ground at wolves about 4 seasons ago after she complained to a steward about me for standing despite the fact that 500 others were too-the silly cow made me miss hartys opener and waste a day and about 100 quid...she was sat right at the back, why oh why dont these people wisen up and just sit at the front where they know they will have perfect view :censored::censored::censored:

I was in front row behind goal, due to the leg room problems, and sat through first half, but due to some people not going back to their seats for 2nd half, me and my dad moved to the 2nd row, but still had problems seeing, so was a case of stand up sit down switcharoo.

Though i was mostly standing up

Yes it was very tight, I did wonder if the two ladies in question had sat down and couldn't physically get up, until in the second half we scored and they rose to their feet. Not sure if the seats came with them though.

I hate their 'I'm a better fan' than you bullshit and if it wasn't for me and a couple of others they wouldn't have a supporters club to lord over.

A supporters club that strangely doesn't seem to have recruited for new members for some some time.

Took the whole family today. 3 kids U10, pregnant wife and mum over 70. They knew that our away support always stands if we can so we planned for it.

Found ideal spot about 5 rows back left of goal 'cos could tell the few in front of us weren't going to stand. We could sit or stand at our leisure (standing behind us) to get over leg room problem. In fact Paul Samrah and his tribe came and sat at the front of us.

I sympathise with those unable to see ( my mum often struggles at away games as she's tiny ) but it's a FOOTBALL match, not an evening at the Opera ! A bit of shuffling usually gets around any problems.

Parking in Luton though !?

When I took my seat in the front row Sarah and Liz were already positioned a few rows behind, so the front row had been an option, seats were still free.

However, it gave me a clear view of Paul Samrah's discussion with the stewards. When it was clear that everyone was standing, Paul sensibly moved his kids to the front row of the empty seats to the right, apparently with the steward's approval. When it seemed like commonsense had broken out, in walked bonehead-earpiece-jobsworth steward who insisted he move them and offered them an escort to the other side of the stand. There followed a trail of increasingly senior stewards to review the situation and when asked why the kids couldn't sit there, one replied 'my children don't get special treatment when I go away, why should yours?'.

Not sure why she's moaning - i'm 6ft 1 (not exactly the BFG) and i actually couldn't sit down due to leg room - my legs wouldn't fit!
