To be honest they're not really. It passed every record hours ago (wasn't the previous longest match ever about 3 and a half hours shorter?). The guy with the weaker serve (Mahut) has also absolutely smashed the previous ace record. This is completely unprecedented.

It's especially odd considering Isner has looked absolutely shattered for about 4 hours!

And, although you have to give credit to both players, I think Mahut has been pretty pathetic in actually pressuring Isner's serve In 58 games you would expect a little more from someone who is clearly streets ahead of his opponent in terms of energy
