We did, and I totally agree, but haven't you once looked back and thought about the fact had just 2 of those draws been wins, we would have gone up automatically in 2nd on GD. All teams maybe could say the same regarding the IF's, but in particular, that game we absolutely battered Bolton at home only for them to equalise in injury time after barely having a chance, and then away at B'Ham where we played so well 2nd half, only for PIG to let a simple one in at the end, same away at Forest as well....If's and but's....

If Kuszczak and Ankergren hadn't had those 2 last minute goalkeeping howlers we'd be in the premier league now instead of Hull or Palace.

I look more at Zaha's two bits of quality in the 2nd leg, and the fact that we were slightly too complacent going into it after the draw at Selhurst.

That game at Selhurst was the 'draw too many' in retrospect. We dominated that game without creating too many chances, but we did miss a couple of gilt edged chances to win the away leg. Had we gone to the Amex 1 or 2 up it would have suited Gus's tactics, and we could have hit THEM on the break. All ifs and buts.

Football is littered with what could have, should have happened, fundamentally it's why we love the game.

True. We were far too satisfied with the draw, and Gus made the mistake of treating those games like any other league games, whereas Holloway treated that 2nd leg very much as a cup final, and threw everything at us.

Would that not breach euro employment laws?

No. The players remain employed by their parent clubs.

Incidently, the loan window is not europe wide and only available to clubs below the premier league in England to bring in players.

But you are stopping them working in this coutry which is part of europe.

No, again. They are employed by their parent clubs. They are simply not eligable to play in the Football League, on loan. Absolutely no issue with any employment law.

Is this a change for the current season? I thoughtWatford brought in a couple more foreigners on loan after the window had closed last year?

No change, so not sure how Watford were able to do that !

That said, if we had won that, Watford would have beaten us at Wembley. Forestieri destroyed us at the Amex and got the better of us again on Sunday.

Well, I didn't watch the game, but Watford apparently froze terribly at Wembley.

Probably because the owner of Watford owned Udinese so already employed them. I am not convinced by your view as regards euro employment law and feel it could be challenged but as in the case of Steve Foster v FA the judge said they were autonomous and anybody signing up to the FA rules accepted those rules whether they be legal or not, but euro judges tend to be easier to sway.

Yeah. Coming 4th last year was a real failure. FFS.

Well it was in Gus eyes and the club imploded a bit through the summer during the fallout and as yet we have not fully recovered.
To have any chance of the play-offs now we need to be a bit more attack minded and not sit back for the inevitable 0-0 draw but if you think that is good so be it. we have the players just let them use there potential rather than shackling them

Gus was leaving the club whether we came 1st or 24th. Made no difference.

Watford looked very nervous on the day. Furthermore, considering the form of both Watford and Palace leading up to that day, most Palace fans would have also expected a beating. And the rest they say...

We beat Bristol City in 2004 when they were the form side. That is why the playoffs are a lottery.
