Another unique achievement for 'the special one'?

Not just the first but now the only manager to be sacked by an ESL team?

It just gets better :)

(Apologies if fixtures - this is now a very long thread!)

Right. Apocalypse narrowly averted. Now get the Premier League owners back together to work out how to stop this happening again in 5 years time. The rule book needs rewriting after this.

Yes. But to strengthen the hand of the smaller clubs, not to find new ways of satiating the money lust of the psycho six.

All the clubs should be banned from European football for a number of years

All credit to protesters and other high profile players and managers. So arrogant of those behind this to think supporters of English clubs involved would be happy to play in a competition that had automatic qualification. Surely people right at at top of this like heads of Real Madrid Juventos and Man Utd have to resign. Who will ever trust them again

Too bad. It is ending too soon, the abrupt end will unfortunately just make it return to status quo and we'll see a similar situation again in the not too distant future.

This is the truth.... you are correct. The whole idea of the " Super League " was to top up their current income with a midweek moneyspinner competition as an add on from their domestic leagues. If they have to abandon La liga,Seria A and The Premiership the midweek income will not be enough to support them. They have to stay rooted in their domestic leagues to cream that cash too unless, someone with absolute mega wealth can offer them the money to jump ship permanently and guaranteed. We have not have heard the last of this, next time they will make sure enough money is in place before they announce it and, it will be permanent.

I disagree. The idea is now toxic and will require unilateral resignation from the current set ups, and players banned from international teams. The amount of money needed to make that a safe bet for the psycho six and their EU counrerparts is beyond imagining, and the amputation of these clubs from the body of football will kill global interest, kill viewer numbers and kill income in the new venture, rendering it doomed.

It's over. Only a fool will try again.

The new Champions League format still has this in it:

"The final two places will go to the clubs with the highest club coefficient over the last five years that have not qualified for the Champions League group stage but have qualified either for the Champions League qualification phase, the Europa League or the Europa Conference League."

Which of course is places in the Champions League for those that don't deserve to be there on their performance.

Brilliant news - the big six have demolished much of their own power, influence and respect within the space of about 40 hours - couldn't have been planned any better.

Bye bye chinless Ed Woodward - never to be seen again with luck.

Fans have a massive amount of power. Never, ever forget that.

All 6 should have points deducted. City winning this season’s league would be a disgrace
