Unless I’m misreading it. according to the statement this is a midweek league and they expect to compete in the PL as well.

PL have already said that that isn't happening.
You need written permission from the PL to form a new competition. PL refuse so the only way this goes ahead is by the clubs removing themselves from the entire footballing system. Therefore being ineligible for all competitions both domestically and internationally.

Hope so!

Would be delighted to see them all sod off. Our game doesn’t need this. Would be a better League for it as well.

I really hope the FA and The Premier League do something. Kick them out.

Joel Glazer is the chairman of the Super League? Sounds like a real neutral appointment.

And the big Arsenal and Spurs who aren’t even good enough for top 4 this season and have barely won Euro trophies in recent history are in a Super League, just hilarious how obnoxious and vomit inducing this all is.

Kick them out and good riddance.

Glazer is the Vice Chairman.
The Real Madrid bloke is Chairman.

They have this all planned out.

Watch FIFA's role in this. It'll be...'interesting'.

This hasn't come out of thin air. These clubs have been moving towards this for a loooong time.

If it does happen it's a real chance for us to look at reshaping the entire footballing structure here in the UK. Could be a real positive as those clubs clearly have way too much influence currently.

If I've understood it correctly, it will also be self governed by the original founding members. :ffsparr:

Sorry for mocking Leeds United fans who thought they would reach the Champions League next season

1. Leicester City 56
2. West Ham 55
3. Everton 49
4. Leeds 45
5. Aston Villa 44
6. Wolves 41

Looking forward to it- A Champions League with supporters who actually go to games.

If players who are involved can’t play international competitons, does that mean Dunk will finally get called up? Every cloud.

Aye and the fact JP Morgan have publicly stated they are fronting $5 billion for it. Unless teams start pulling out because of the backlash this is happening.

Another good reply:

If they go through this and you still support these clubs you also contribute to the death of the game.

Burgess Hill Town over Barcelona every time for an away trip. Can't stand on the half way line chomping a cheeseburger at the Nou camp. Or be home in time for Strictly.

I suspect that we will have no choice. The money may disappear from the PL/EFL extremely quickly and the ramifications could be huge.

Ironically a lot of those teams have been 'big 6' at one point or another over the years.

i wouldnt be surprised if the management of the clubs accept this risk. with the calculation that once they are seen to be serious the national leagues would back down because its not much skin off their nose, better to let them play than lose them. this is about a replacement European league, not domestic, and up against UEFA who want to benefit from expanded new CL format that no one else wants.

There'll still be money around. Maybe it will just be at more sensibly levels.
In no world should Spurs/Madrid be paying Bale £500-600k a week.
That kind of thing is mental. So if this means a return to some levels of normality i'm all for it.

All 12 clubs have resigned from the ECA so I hope uefa kicks out Real Madrid Chelsea and Man City out of this years champions league and gives it by default to PSG

No backtracking now they have resigned from the ECA

Other 3 clubs are rumoured to be from Spain and Italy

The PL should act now tonight and suspend them now, they have joined a new league as their statement has said. So go now don't give them a chance to squirm. Football will live on without them.
