Got a photo of the effigy but imageshack isn't working for me at the moment.

Will try and upload it later.

That'll be my last Lewes Bonfire. Too many f***ing idiots did my head in.

Waterloo fireworks were quality though.

People shouldn't run away with the idea that bonfire effigies and tableaux necessarily portray people who are being castigated. As often as not, they are tributes.

Yep, on the back it said, "In memory of...."

If that is the case, then I withdraw my "pricks" comment...and possibly even the "unimaginative" bit too...

...but Lewes bonfire doesn't have a tradition of "tribute" effigies, does it??

I may be wrong. I'm from Uckfield

I just popped down with my 8 year old daughter to watch the very early procession and there were still some wankers throwing fireworks around the kiddies parade.

Managed a couple of quick pints in the Lewes arms while i was waiting, then came home and had a BBQ at me mates.

Was then treated to probably the most spectacular firework display i've seen in 37 years of living in the town.

Walked home and was met by the entire commercial square procession walking up my street and i decided to try to pick a fight with them all after the cretins started letting off bangers under the cars....including mine !!!
