I agree. We’ll want to support Roberto as much as possible this season and clubs who are interested in him now will no doubt want him in the summer. Allows Mitoma and Enciso to develop further and we’ll probably get another forward in at the end of the season too.

Didn’t think Trossard’s contract had the option to extend. Good news. Think from the clubs point of view they would still like to see a commitment from him, if he’s made it clear he’s not going to stay beyond that period, then cashing in (when arguably in his best ever run of form) has to be a conundrum for the club.

If we wait until the summer when he would have 1 year left (assuming the club takes up the 1 year option), we will be in the same situation as Biss (with 1 year left), who most of us thought was sold too cheaply at around £25m. IMO just like with Bissouma, TB is not going to take the risk to sell him in January just because you can get £10-15m extra compared to selling him in the summer.

The season before that, Trossard played 2731 minutes while Mahrez played 3206 minutes.

Sterling has scored over a 100 PL goals can you imagine his thoughts when asked to play as wing back I’m guessing he’s not loving the idea. RDZ wanted Leo up the pitch to score goals from day one it’s working he’s playing to his strengths. Potter isn’t at Brighton where players are happy to get a game Chelsea players have the power to out him if they feel it’s not working.

Whilst we might get extra money from selling in Jan, his goals in the second half of the season could also be worth a few extra million from a higher league position.

Good players can play in most positions. Trossard has been excellent when playing LWB, Sterling hasn't. Why? Main reason: Trossard is a better footballer than Sterling.

He is inconsistent yes but it kind of goes with the role. He's a lot more consistent now than 2 years ago and no more likely to have a bad run of games than anyone else really.

Trossard probably wouldn't start for City but other than that I think he'd get into most sides. Liverpool is unlikely though... as you say they need to refresh the team and decrease the average age a bit and Tross does not fit into that.

That simply isn't true, what so ever. An example being England 'golden generation' with Scholes, Gerrard and Lampard etc being a bust.

Even slight tweaks in positional change can throw great players off, sometimes you may find magic but saying good players should be able to play in most positions is absurd. Even physical attributes play a massive part in how a player fares in position, even if they've got the brain and intelligence.

Trossard 100% wouldn't start for City every week, Im sure he would take the 200k a week to play now and then and win trophies though.

I thought Trossard was around 24yr for some reason, I didn't realise he was 27yr already. He's probably got 2 or 3 years of his peak left and no real sell on potential if he was sold next season, so I actually think we have a better chance of keeping him (or losing him for free if he runs his contract down).

Given that Leo would get a percentage of any transfer , it would be in his own interest to sign a new deal with us , the more time left on his contract = the bigger his percentage and he knows we will still agree to let him go for the right money .

But i believe Leo`s biggest concern would be ( as others have said ) game time , ask Biss how happy he is with going from 1st on the sheet to maybe getting 10-15 minutes each game . Again as has already been said , if he left at nearly 29 with possibly less game time it would seriously effect his International status and opportunities to represent Belgium . He knows playing regularly for us got him his regular call ups , he loves playing for Belgium so this would be of massive concern for him .

Money and European games is what he wants , money can surely be found to keep such an important player , and he must see that with the team we have and the youngsters coming through , not to forget future signings will give us a genuine chance of that , yesterday should prove that to him .

Anyway the ramblings of a desperate supporter or real belief , one can only hope
