Well, at least it keeps him off the streets.. that's the main thing.

Well we will be Le Havre on Saturday so hopefully one of the bars might have it on a big screen!

Should be able to see the finish before getting the 5pm boat back to Portsmouth!

Landis beat Pereiro by 1 minute 23 seconds in the Time Trial at the same time in the 2005 Tour de France.

However, there was not so much at stake for Pereiro.

I can see Landis winning by 45 seconds this time around. I have not checked their respective ages.

This would give Landis the title by a mere 15 seconds. It is gonna be close.

Pereiro at 6 to 1 is a good bet, methinks? Not a cert though.

This is going to be close.

Addenda:

Sastre was 15 seconds faster than Pereiro on the Time Trial last year.

This would give him 3 seconds ahead of Pereiro. Don't put you life savings on Landis. Looks a really poor bet to me.

Ages:

Sastre is 31
Landis is 31
Pereiro is 29

Armstrong is 35

Forecast

1. Landis
2. Sastris 12 seconds
3. Pereiro 15 seconds

which is a bit close after cycling around France and up lots of mountains.

I know I said yesterday that Kloden would win it. But Landis surprised me today with his antics, and you have to say that the american is favourate now. Saturdays TT is going to be the decider. Nothings gonna happen tommorrow with regards to the GC. Landis is a better time trialist that Pereio (spl). Gonna be bloody close though. Good to see that Millar and Wiggins are still going strong.

I'll see what odds the local bookies are offering on Pereiro?

This would be a gamble.

I puta token £8 on Pereiro at 6-1 . Nobody else had betted on the race. Did not take long on the computer though.

Yellow jersey Oscar Pereiro has hailed former team-mate Floyd Landis and backed the American for victory in Paris. The Spaniard finished Stage 17 over seven minutes adrift of Landis and leads Carlos Sastre by 12 seconds in the GC. Landis is poised 30 seconds behind on the eve of the deciding ITT.

It looks like Pereiro is hoping for second place. On Time Trial form Pereiro needs to find another minute from soemwhere to beat Landis! The bookies reckon as Landis is 2/7 it can't be done!

But he only needs to beat the form times by about 15 seconds or so to beat Sastre for second place.

There are six second time bonuses for the two intermediate sprints today. I don't this will make any difference though.

Time Trial today.

Thunder and lightning overnight and could be the same when the the leaders pedal off in the afternoon.

Come on Oscar Pereiro ! (He deserves to win it and I've got 6-1 at Ladbrokes.)

After early showers, the course has dried out in most places, though the weather forecast suggests light rain could return late on. The sun is hidden behind the clouds, and it is somewhat cooler than in previous days, with the temperature around 26 degrees
10:31 Floyd Landis has the chance to finally step out of the shadows of former team-leader Lance Armstrong, though yellow jersey Oscar Pereiro and second-place Carlos Sastre will be going all out to preserve their advantage over the American.

14:12 German champion Sebastian Lang is now underway and he is 14 seconds quicker than anybody after 16km. The Gerolsteiner rider was third in the first time-trial, just 3 seconds behind Landis, and will fancy his chances of winning here today.

PS: Don't put a bet on him. He'll not win the stage!
