Good player, also expecting another couple of players in this week I heard.

Looks like Clyne is off to Newcastle though, with Danny Simpson heading to Fulham,

They beat off competition from Leeds and Ipswich for Ward. Mainly due to him wanting to stay in the area and that Palace gave him assurances he'll be their right back (his favoured position and a replacement for Clyne), rather than more of a utlity player that he was forced in to being at Pompey and was suggested he'd end up at Ipswich and Leeds.

They were meant to be signing Tunchev on a free from Leicester, but that has fallen through at the last minute.

Lots of rumours about Clyne and Zaha going to West Ham in return for £8m plus a couple of players. Can't see that happening but would be amusing if Zaha went there after all the talk of him already being a Top 4 player from the fans.

Theyre going up this season IMO.

Good player. Suprised they were able to dig out 400k without knowing Clyne and co are off.

Might fancy a little flutter on a Brighton promotion/Palace relegation..

I don't think they will get promoted next year, but am 99% sure they won't go down. Reckon they'll finish around where we did this year, so it's up to us to push on and keep ahead. Can only really judge expectations once the bulk of the transfer business is conluded, which unfortunately is some way off yet.

Ward is just a replacement for Clyne, so while Ward is a decent player, Clyne is better so in effect even after that deal they are still worse off than last year.

deletebeepbeepbeep - three consecutive pro-palace posts - might I suggest that you are on the wrong board having seemingly changed allegiance?

remember that Clyne and Zaha will be gone by September

They're sure about Clyne going. Hence this signing. Good piece of work from the club to be fair.

To the premier league if they keep making solid signings like Ward and keep hold of Williams and Zaha.

They finished 17th this year with williams and zaha, and are replacing a better 'premier bound' player in Clyne, with a solid but lesser player in Ward.

that makes them slightly weaker not stronger, though think you're on a wind up!
