He was a decent central defender, not so good left back, who could pass the ball well but was prone to an error. Is he better than El-Abd, Dunk and Greer? Unless he's improved, probably not.

Answered your own question! Have you ever lived in Eastbourne?????

That's a silly answer. Try comparing chalk and cheese. Brighton is good at what it's known for and Eastbourne is equally good at what it does. We are lucky in Sussex to have diversity in our premier seaside towns.

Definitely a 'Gus type' player, but as others have said, is much better at CB where we currently have a lot of options. Left back he's not great so wouldn't expect him to be Mattock's replacement.

Would be a great signing if our pool of centre backs was reduced for whatever reason.

eastbourne is good for when your 60 and about to retire

Eastbourne is good if you love to live beside the sea. Eastbourne is good if you love living by outstanding countryside with beautiful downland cliffs. Eastbourne is good if you have a young family as it's one of the safest large towns for crime. Eastbourne is good for education as there are many great schools. Eastbourne is good if one enjoys traditional English life. These are believe it or not an attractive draw for many ordinary Englishmen.

Brighton is good but in a different way.

Neither is superior, each town appeals to a different demographic in a different way.

Perhaps Gus is looking at playing with 3 centre backs Greer El Abd and Lynch on the left with 2 wing backs. I wouldnt like to see Lynch playing as an orthodox left back but as the left side of 3 that would be a different kettle of fish.

Hadn't thought of that as he has never shown any indication to even try it. Would it work? It would be very very brave......................................

.............but seriously exciting!

tenant or owner? I would have thought u sorted housing once u've secured a contract etc

Not sure, my mate is basically moving into a new property, and the previous person to live there was Joel Lynch. He asked the estate agent why Joel was leaving and was told it was because he is moving to brighton. I think Joel was a tennent, and not the owner- but I'm not sure why that matters. My friend is moving into the new gaff in 2 weeks time- beginning of July- and thats when Joel's contract with Forest will have expired.

Whether it is to come back to us, or to sign, some people are stating, for Millwall or some other London club, I have no idea. Either way, he won't be at Forest and he will be living in Brighton :)

what it does show is that he has clearly signed a pre-contract deal with someone and that the news of it has not been released and presumably wont be until his contract with Forest ends on 30th June.

I think we can draw massive comfort from that because there must be many many other players in exactly the same position and who knows? Maybe some of them will be signing for us! Roll on 1st July and a bit of transfer action whoever it might involve :)

I wasn't keen on the way he over celebrated his goal against us but then again, I was a bit bolloxed after supping some blow your brains out cider @the vat & fiddle near Nottingham Station before the game! £2:70 a pint...... thank you very much!!

I cannot think of an example or the games off of the top of my head but I am sure that we have adopted that formation late on in a game when we have been chasing it.

Then again who knows what Gus is thinking and even if Lynch returning is an option. If it was a straight standard left back I would be more interestd in McNulty if somebody was coming back.

So that's 3 centre backs,2 wing backs,1 goalkeeper,2 defensive midfielders.That means 3 attacking spaces left:D

That's defo a boring gus line-up:rolleyes:

He's off to millwall im sure

Who said anything about 2 defensive midfielders don't Italy play with 3 centre backs and 1 defensive midfielder 2 attacking midfielders and 2 up front, plus obviously GK and 2 wing backs

If this is true and Gus is thinking of playing 3 at the back, I'd say it sounds like he is thinking slightly more attack minded midfield, which leaves me thinking he could be well be quite positive of Vicente coming back.
Or is that me being too optimistic ?
