I must admit that I didn't think he'd do that well. Swansea released him when they were in this league, so I presumed league 1 was probably his level.

Championship version of Painter sounds about right. Very solid at this level but not the league above. Make it happen and offload Paints if he isn't happy as a back-up. I would be fine with him being our 'good guy' in the squad as cover but we need a player of Mattock's ability to start ahead of him.
