Just opened up my iTunes and told that the new 7.0 version has just been released.

Anyone else downloaded it, if so what's it like or should I just stick with the version I've got ?

It really up to you, but I recommend downloading it if your Itunes decides to pack up.

Alright then, cheers Kev

I've downloaded it, I haven't seen much change.

The games are sweet though, I brought Tetris yesterday and haven't put my iPod down yet !!

Hello?

Gapless playback? Browse by artwork? Improved podcast downloading?

:thud:

Don't want a picture of the front of the CD thanks.
Don't download off there as you can always get it for free from LimeWire.

Gapless playback? pretty sure i've had that for YEARS in WinAmp..or had a plug-in for it but forgot to re-install it!

Edit: yeah found it on the winamp website, came out in 2000...and there was me thinking Apple was the forefront of MP3 technology :lolol:

Good reason not to upgrade.

You can use jhymn to scrub the AAC files from the iTunes store, then convert them to mp3 files if and only if you don't use iTunes higher than 5 to make the purchases.

Of course, there are a bajillion mp3 players out there, with real price competition.

Running 6 or 7 makes you a captive of the iPod, or a few compatables.

Only if you BUY from iTunes store. Even then there are ways round it. Burn the tracks to a CD as MP3 and then rip them back.

I thought iTunes had had gapless playback for years too. Certainly the versions I've had have had an option for no gap.
