I don't think you can blame Adams for this situation. Robinson has had chances under all of the previous managers and has failed to deliver consistant performances. He has never really taken his game to the next level and fulfilled his early promise (a bit like Dean Cox).

Not sure why this is as he has all the basics required to be a great player at this level. Maybe its our coaching and he will get better elsewhere who knows

If he stays here I feel he is now viewed as an impact player off the bench and if he wants more than that perhaps a fresh start elsewhere is the the answer for him.

Personally though it worries me any players leaving at the moment as we are a bit thin on the ground as it is!

I'd go along with most of that. I wonder if he's able to score in training? He always looks really nervous in front of goal, and for a striker thats a fundamentall flaw to his game

Robinson has what it needs to be a good player - pace.

Oh is that all it takes? What about skill, composure, a bit of bottle maybe?
He was over hyped at the start and has failed to deliver under succesive managers. A loan may be his final chance but I wouldn't be suprised if its perminant.

i think it is a loss, as he is allways good to have on the bench and when brought on changes the game (sometimes) but i dont think he is given enoth time on the pitch to prove him self to the manager

Robinson has what it needs to be a good player - pace. Unfortunately it seems neither Wilkins or Adams thought he had it... no finger pointing on this one. Must admit he had made it when he scored two hatricks in week - he never really recovered from the shock of that.

I hope it's a loan. I would like to see him given a shot under one more manager

Perhaps we should sign Usain Bolt then because he's the fastest runner in the world and by your reckoning that must make him the worlds greatest footballer!!!!!!!!!!!

The problem with Jake Robinson is that he is exactly like a lottery ticket. Whenever you buy one you dream about the potential but every Saturday night you end up bitterly disappointed and not even the odd tenner (or goal) makes up for that.

Good bye and enjoy life in the conference, if you get a chance at that level.

Not useless, but you can only talk about potential for so long before somebody has to make decisions about contracts.

What is he, 22? Hardly a youth team whizz kid.

He has ability, no doubt about it, but not enough power or ooomph by my reckoning. And I'm sorry but the sound of grown men excitedly shouting "Go on, Jakey" from the stands makes me cringe- every time he plays, I feel like I've been transported to an Under 9s match. Maybe if he changed his name to something a bit more macho, he'd have a chance of making it

;)

Right here, right now
I hope he does go - we don't need a striker who somehow manages to trip up and jump over the ball two yards out from an open goal.

I am taking this as sign of the domino effect - Jake moves on and someone else arrives.

Good for the lad but could of been a good squad player under good managment, ANOTHER decent youth player Micky has ruined :nono:

O do

Absolute bollocks. THINK (yes, using what constitutes as your Brain) before you write. He's been in and out of form since he first pulled on an Albion shirt.

:annoyed: Sorry, but that is utter utter rubbish.

Sometimes when a footballer isn't good enough, is inconsistent season after season after season and doesn't take his (numerous) chances when he's given them.. he might wanna take a look at himself, rather than blaming the manager.

I tend to chat to Jake's cousin every now and then, I saw her last week and she said that Adams doesn't like him, and he wants to stay but feels he is being forced out.

Exactly. The bloke has been hyped since he was an apprentice but really has not acheived his potential, this is one you cannot hang on Adams.

Can't pin that one on Adams - Jake has had loads of chances over the last couple of years under Wilkins and McGhee and never delivered. Hopefully he will go, we will get some cash and a sell-on clause and maybe he will prosper somewhere else.

will be surprised if theres any fee involved? anyhow good luck jakey shame you never reached you potential

There MIGHT be something in this (from the Shropshire Star):

Simpson seeks midfield supportShrewsbury Town will step up their quest for midfield reinforcements amid fears that Kevin McIntyre could miss the remainder of the season.

McIntyre was due to see a specialist in Oswestry this afternoon after suffering a double fracture of the fibula in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Port Vale.

That appointment will provide a better indication of the expected rehabilitation timescale for the 31-year-old.

But, with manager Paul Simpson already looking to bolster his midfield options even before the injury, McIntyre’s setback is only likely to hasten that search ahead of this weekend’s visit of Darlington.

Maybe a little self-interest from her then, surely?

"Adams doesn't like him": any player who isn't in the team is going to say that about the manager.

For my money, if you're not in the team, either you work your butt off until you force the boss to play you, or you have to wake up to the reality that you're not good enough, and ship out. You can't just sit there and think it's not your fault because the manager doesn't like you. That's a really childish reaction (and, in most cases, an incorrect one).

Of course he wants to stay- football's an uncertain world and it's not much good for the ego if he ends up in non-league. But the Albion isn't a bloody charity, and I'm fed up with us continuing to pay people who aren't contributing anything to the squad. It's not just Robinson- there were a number of other players who somehow managed to scrape new contracts last season, having done very little to justify them. I need name no names.

If he was good enough, he'd have played consistently, under Wilkins, Taylor, Adams (1), Adams (2), and whoever else we've had through the managers office. When you're 17, you have excuses, by the time you're Robinson's age, you're fast running out.

I agree with everything EK has said, I do not think a player can blame a manager when he has consistantly failed to make an impact! Even the Lynch thing is stupid, good player, but did not give it time and considering even Wilkins wasn't playing him regularly last season says alot about him!! Remember the Forest game on the Friday night? Or the Mansfield game?
