You may be right, but what good is slating all and sundry?

would rather give the team a half decent send off, irrespective of the fact they've not produced...

we have won 7 games all season do they deserve a decent send off

Bravo!

It might be the last we see of some of them, and perhaps if someone like Chippy was to leave, I would rather he have a good send off, than some old fart in the B block booing.

Chippy, Butters, Mayo et al. The players that might not be back have served us well. You can't fault their effort and what more can you ask.

Come on Barrel,we are 24th the last 2 home games have been dire most of the season has been dire

I know that, But I am trying to be realistic. There is no denying that we have played poorly for some/most of the season.

We are a young team. They are bound to be inconsistent. We have the smallest revenue out of all the clubs. We lost £3m worth of players and were unable to replace them...etc. etc. I am trying to look at the postives. I am as disappointed as anyone, but I see us bouncing back. We were ahead of schedule (Falmer wise) and we will be back. Let us preserve unity, bounce back and slay the LDC!!

Way out west
I got my last footy fix of the season today, a full blooded and lively encounter with something at stake for both teams, two excellent goals and a brace of red cards for fighting (the players were escorted to the tunnel by a linesman, in case they started punching each other again), nails bitten down to the quick but the right result after 90 minutes, bring on next season!!!

I was disappointed that we got relegated, but believe it or not, some of us are realistic.

BG, you are possibly the most bitter and twisted person I have ever had the pleasure of reading. I know you are dearly hanging onto the glory years, but just wake up and smell the coffee for crying out loud! We are skint and we have done wel to hang about in the championship for this long.....I am not going to bother!!!

Lets get it right nothing would give me greater pleasure than to applaud the team, the manager and the board tomorrow which I would have done had we stayed up.

Despite all the people looking at DK & MM through tinted glasses this relegation could so easily have been avoided. Most people on here have spent the last 9 months on here slating off this player, that player and MM for not getting results and in most cases for not showing any pride or passion in the shirts that they are wearing on our behalf.

What are we to do stand and applaud and say well done it is like having bad service in a restaurant and then leaving the waiter a tip. You can't have it both ways.

I also do not go with this Withdean and lack of money for wages theory because to quote DK at a fans forum when asked about the allocation of funds for wages he was quick to point out that although we didnt pay as much as many in the division we were not the lowest by any strech of imagination. So once again which is it.

You all get it wrong I am neither bitter nor twisted but EXPECT us to do better than we have this season.

What with zero finances and the smallest playing budget - are you God who can multiply small things and distribute ???

This is exactly what I was saying DK said that we didnt have the smallest playing budget.

Well as you are so well connected go and ask him and then give us an honest answer.

There is no point in crying over spilt milk, unless you are Dr Who and can go back in time we were relegated.

Accept it and move on for once.

I am only repeating what he said at a fans forum so it is safe to assume that he told the truth.

I want to move on to next year but any show of feelings tomorrow is a show of feelings for the performances last year not an inducement for next season.

I would feel that I was being hypocritical if I applauded the players etc tomorrow for what they achieved last season.

I will probably just watch and walk away neither applauding nor slagging off the team. But moaning and groaning of what might or should have been.

As Ben said to me " Dont worry Grandad I have seen 3 promotions and 2 relegations in the 7 years that I have been watching them I will see another promotion next year or the year after". Perhaps I should listen to the wise words of an 11 year old.

I have no doubt that the players have done their best, it wasn't good enough but it is churlish in the extreme to go to a meaningless football match just to boo the team at the end. Can't go today but they'd get a big   from me, as BOF says you may never again see some of those who gave us 2 Championships, a promotion, a last day thriller to offset two relegations. Better than 6 seasons of mid table mediocrity imo and definitely worth applause.
