Full reunification happened in summer 1991, although the Berlin Wall fell in 1989 and the treaty reunifying Germany was signed in summer 1990. Therefore the Germans are at their 5th World cup (1994, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010). Fall of the Berlin Wall is about the only thing I remember from German A-Level.

People seem to forget they were Germany in 1930, 1934 and 1938, none of which were won by them but that is another 3 world cups on top of the 5 since unification.
