Im sick of christmas already!!

Whos fed up with Christmas already? I am fed up with it and it is only Novemeber, every single advert on tv now is for Christmas, in the supermarkets decorations are already up, all this shit for one day, big anti climax if you ask me. I dont understand it anymore. Then on Christmas day afternoon they start all over again with more adverts asking everyone to get down to the sales, my question is whats the point of it all, all Christmas is about is how much money each company makes. Load of bullshit if you ask me. I used to love Christmas, someone please tell me whats good about and restore my faith.

they start bombarding us far too early - and as soon as the Christmas decorations go down it'll be easter eggs and chocolate....

I used to work in a super market and that is very true. Xmas stuff comes in early september and goes out a couple of weeks later, hten easter eggs come in in the new year, 4 MONTHS before easter.

Whats worse is people who buy their xmas pressies far too early! Was buying something in early september and there was an old woman in front with some xmas wrapping paper she said 'I have got them all so I might as well wrap them'!

My favourite bit is on Christmas Eve. Kids have gone to bed, everythings ready and done, everythings wrapped, we turn the lights down low, telly off, background music on, Christmas tree lights twinkling, me and the missus just settle back with a nice liqueor and look forward to the morning seeing the kids excited with their pressies. Also the knowledge that I've got 2 weeks off, with a couple of Albion games thrown in for good measure, socialising with family and friends, silly games, lay-ins...

Christmas for me, on the other hand, is just bloody hard work.

Present buying; knobbly parcel wrapping; address finding; card scrawling: post office queuing; food shopping; bottle lugging; tree decorating; pudding stirring: Turkey stuffing; dinner cooking; nibble producing; relative entertaining; argument sorting; thank you letter organising........

Christmas is what you make of it.

Turn the tv off if the adverts and old programmes make you sick. Play the music you enjoy instead. Visit people that you want to see not who you have to see.

I have had some terrible Christmases in the past, as a child with my Dad away in the Navy and my Mum having walked out when I was little. I was then married to someone who had a drink problem for over 20 years. At times I dreaded Christmas.

But I realised that it was up to me whether I enjoyed it or not.
It is hard work Lush but the family will enjoy your hard work even if they don't show it.

Boxing Day is the Albion and get together with mates so even if Christmas Day itself is a let down then there is something to look forward to.

i love xmas! but they should really start everything on the 1st december! decorations go up, xmas adverts start, the lot all on the first of december, the earlier it gets the more pathetic it is. If it all started in december, it would create much more of an impact! the earlier it gets the longer it just seems to drag on!

I love Christmas now - its fun and we have a wonderful time...we do what we want and what makes us happy - especially the presents and the food....
