How long is your working day, including travel?

Dont like what? EMA?
No, i dont like it, and the fact is most people on it even admit that its a complete farce. Im not loaded and neither are my parents, but i dont qualify for EMA, yet those i know who have one parent on 6 figures and the other doesnt work but are divorced get £30 a week for attending college. Add on to this a £100 bonus at Christmas and in summer holidays that im aware of, which is similar to what I get paid for working 7 hours of my weekends, thus losing time to do college work etc.

Even degree's aren't hardly worth as much anymore, as people are getting them left right and centre! Expirence over a Degree(s) . Plus, what the f*** are them hats about you have to wear when you 'graduate' - plus the 20k + debt you end up in afterwards.

Nope i agree 100%, nobody should get it. Sometimes its a good idea, but the way its planned out and distributed it is an absolute joke. My cousins mum doesnt earn much at all and is a single parent, and she used her EMA to purchase a good camera for her photography Uni course, which otherwise wouldnt have been affordable. But for things like this, it should be done more by the way that you reach an agreement where you agree to work for the money that was being used for EMA, or are given vouchers to ensure it goes on the intended stuff.
Most of my mates spend the £30 on going to the casino, or towards going to Magaluf next year, i dont blame them one bit, but the fact that some of this money comes from those who can hardly afford to pay their taxes is a joke.

I leave mine at 4.30am and get back home anywhere between 12.30-2pm. But because of the early starts it can feel like a longer day sometimes.

I get up at 7.45 three days a week to be at work teaching PE at 9am.On Fridays I get up around 10 to be at school for 12 noon.I spend the afternoon working with the kids who have problems.I get wednesdays off and weekends to myself.I finish at 4pm and get around ten weeks paid holiday each year.
I earn a decent living wage and enjoy the time I have to spend with my family.
I do live in Spain though.Where priorities are a bit different.

Get up at 6 and exercise the dogs for an hour.
Leave for work at 8.30 and takes 25-30 mins.
Leave work 5.30ish. Dogs out for 1.5/2hrs.
Probably do another hours work at home.

In the winter I go in for 10am, which allows me to exercise the dogs longer in the morning, in daylight. Will then leave work at 6/6.30pm.
We have a flexi-time system, so anything over the standard hours (37.5) I build up and get back as time off.

Typically I am out of the house for 13 hours a day. Usually 9.5-10 hours at work, 3 hours travelling (1.5hours each way)

The wife was on that train and had to charge accross the platform to get another one or something like that she was wittering on abit.

She still travels upto Camden and leaves the house at 6am and I picke her up at 6pmish preston park 12 hours she does and I do 10 and a half and I work in Lancing. Hats off to all your smoke workers

self employed builder , leave home around 7 am , home around 5 30 pm , dinner 6 pm , take dog out, 7pm sit down and start pricing work , sort invoices , make phone calls .
and stella time is 9 and that is when work has finished

However I'm barely awake when I leave the house and sleep most of the way on the train, so it's as if I start the day at 8.10am at London Bridge.

Really? I feel the opposite. I love the fact that when it's 12 midday, I've worked 5 hours ..., but at the same time getting up at 0530 isn't easy.

Do that sort of 4 days a week, 5 at the moment because I am managing the shop full time until a replacement for the old one is found. It's quite tiring, but it's all about earning money. I've worked that shift today and am working it everyday now until tuesday, except sunday which is 11am-6pm. I wouldn't mind it so much if I didn't have to work with a trainee for the next 3 days, including saturday, it massively increases my workload and on top of all that there are mystery shoppers and age testers going around. Just can't be bothered at the moment.
