So much so that the calf, if male, will be returned to farm conditions, and either shot (like half the other males are at birth) or kept in a shed until it becomes nice and succulent for veal. In our animal loving way it'll then have its throat slit.

Of course it may be fortunate enough to have to carry around oversized udders and be industrially and distressingly milked.

Not surprissed the poor cow was on the run.

According to police, they received reports that the cow was charging at members of the public and had damaged a car.

A Surrey police spokesperson said they tried to safely capture the cow over a number of hours and explored a number of options before hitting it with a car

We don't know the full story so cannot really comment.
