In theory, if he plays a part tomorrow and is crap, could we renege on the deal and send him back to Cambridge on Monday?

That is why it is odd. He has got to step up two divisions and with a new set of team mates. It is not like we are desperately short of forwards.

that kind of hints that Dicker is not fit for tomorrow, and we are going to play 4-3-3 with Murray, Forster, Dickinson upfront. This then leaves Holroyd as the only recognised striker on the bench, or one of two if you include Hart

We have 2 first choice Murray and Forster (36 yrs old)
1 back up Dickinson
1 who is virtually finished as a goal scorer OGH
1 who couldnt score if he was stood on the goalline so is out on loan Davies.
1 17 year old who is not ready for the first team yet. Barker

So we do not have an abundance of talent up front.

Is this actually for real, or Mendoza being a funny guy?

This WAS actually for real. The story did actually appear on the Cambridge website saying that Holdroyd had signed for 2 days with a view to a pernament deal going through on Monday. However, as has been said elsewhere on the thread, the story was swiftly taken down.

Strange.
