Hartlepool's FA disciplinary delayed until Thursday.

Liddle was suspended after picking up 10 yellow cards
Hartlepool's disciplinary hearing for fielding an ineligible player has been adjourned until Thursday, 6 May.

Charges are being brought against the club by the Football Association after they fielded Gary Liddle whilst he was suspended for accruing 10 yellow cards.

The midfielder featured in the 2-0 win over Brighton in April when he should have been serving the first game of a two-match ban.

Pools' website states the club will make no further comment on the matter.

Thats a poor decision from the FA/FL. They should have lost the 3 points they gained and been fined. It just sends out a message of weakness from the governing bodies, I wonder how they'll capitulate next?

If Hartlepool lost to Brentford on the last day and Tranmere beat Stockport then Hartlepool would go down.

Exeter could relegate Hartlepool if they won at home to Huddersfield and Tranmere beat Stockport

Essentially what they are saying is that now ANY CLUB could choose someone who is suspended for a relegation decider on the last day of the season, and if this is the stance they take, they could say they did it 'accidently' and get away with it? Sorry but what a LUDICROUS decision.

OK, so any club who has their prolific top-scorer suspended for a final crucial game can now play him anyway, safely in the knowledge that all they will receive is a fine, and the suspension carried over to a future less crucial game.
