The first troupe was called The Go-Jos, but it was Pan's People - masterminded by Flick Colby - who really defined the role. They made their debut dancing to Tommy James & The Shondells' 'Mony Mony' in 1968, and stayed with the show for nearly ten years.
Pan's People were briefly replaced by Ruby Flipper in 1978 before Colby came up with Legs & Co. and, in 1980, Zoo.

Whilst on the subject of dodgy dance troupes, I was shocked to learn that Hot Gossip from the Kenny Everett show were choreographed and had their outfits designed by Arlene Phillips of Strictly Come Dancing fame. Saucy minx.

I think this is different though. That old Benny Hill stuff is more like what you'd see in a strip club (I believe) and is more provocative than those slappers. Also some of them barely look 18.
