I've got a mate from there and whenever a bunch of us go up there for a night out, they're friendly and welcoming. The Anfield fan base, in my experience (about six times so far) still comprises a majority of locals, and they are indeed knowledgeable about footy, and they know how to sing.

When we secured our epic 2-2 draw up there in '91 the Kop applauded our team at their end before they came down to us.

18 League titles. Five European Cups. Seven FA Cups, seven League Cups, three UEFA Cups. That's pretty good.

They hate Man United and occasionally beat them, to United's complete chagrin, which makes me v.happy.
