No one knows for sure, the truth will only out when Murray quits Palace and reveals all in his memoirs. Will be interesting reading.

I had a chat with his Mrs at the home game against Palace. She said he wanted to stay, Brighton let the contract run down without negotiating an extension then Palace were one of a few clubs that offered to replace it. Reckons he only went there as it's the nearest Championship club. Pompey or Saints (can't remember which) offered the same deal as Palace but would have wanted him to stay down before home games, which he didn't want to do.

She actually said that Murray had told her he hoped he had a good game against us so that maybe Gus would take him back on loan...

But hey, what does it all matter anyway?
