I saw 20 acts which I can reasonably assess, so thought I'd give my verdicts in the style of the Premier League table:

1. Pulp (Champions) 9.5
----------------------------------------
2. Glasvegas (Champions League) 9
3. The Joy Formidable (Champions League) 8.5
4. Yuck (Champions League) 8.2
-------------------------------------------
5. U2 (Zooropa League) 8.1
------------------------------------------
6. Esben and the Witch 8
7. Cage the Elephant 7.8
8. Guillemots 7.7
9. Six Nation State 7.6
10. The Walkmen 7.4
11. Metronomy 7.3
12. Fight Like Apes 7.2
13. The Naked and the Famous 7.1
14. The Beat 7
15. Molotov Jukebox 7
16. Dry the River 6.5
17. Anna Calvi 6.2
-----------------------------------------
18. Radiohead (R) 6

20. Foster the People (R) 5

Janelle Monae - what the hell was that dirge all about?

Did no one who went go and see Noah and the Whale? Blistering set from what I saw on the box.

Good work but Anna Calvi hovering just over relegation zone? Very harsh. I thought she was very good if let down by poor sound.
Agree about Pulp, they blew everyone else away.

I'm contemplating going to my first festival this year, as a few mates are getting hold of Reading tickets.
I've never been able to decide if I'd enjoy it or not. I guess there's only one way to find out...

Agree Pulp were the highlight of the week and Yuck were fantastic in the John Peel tent. Shame you missed the set by TV on the radio who behind Pulp were the second best band of the week.

Harsh on Radiohead, I love In Rainbows and it was good to get a sneak preview of their new album live.

Coldplay are a middle-class version of Oasis for me, they also had a fantastic first album with some cracking anthems, pretty good 2nd album, but cracks starting to show already. Since then, disappearing fast up their own arseholes, faster than Bono can say "Ah, to be sure, so it is"

I fear the Arctic Monkeys are to repeat history too.

Just seen this thread and I've been enjoying the "banter" but this quote about Oasis is surely a little wide of the mark. If you've never seen any of it, their 1995 headlining performance at Glastonbury (in 35 degree heat and Liam didn't sweat even wearing a Parka) was awesome. But they blotted their copybook with one of the worst-ever headline performances in 2004...

I wasn't talking about Oasis live, I meant in general, they are the Status Quo of the iPod generation
